Great tour and even better guide. Kerem was friendly and welcoming to every person. He was incredibly knowledgeable on the history of the city, buildings and monuments on the Bosphorus, and social/cultural facts. I would highly recommend his tour to anyone wanting a specialized experience to learn anything and everything about Istanbul from a local.
Our travel company, Overseas Adventure Travel, scheduled a private cruise on the Bosphorus on our second day. The boat was lovely, and we had perfect weather. The cruise helped us get our bearings of Istanbul, as there are so many waterways that it is hard to know exactly where you are. We saw many landmarks from the river that we saw in person. Our guide took the microphone and explained everything as we cruised. There were refreshments available if you wanted it on the boat, and everyone agreed that it was a great time.
This was such a great experience!! The tour guide got us the best spot on the boat and was very passionate about Turkish culture and history. It was very interesting to learn about and absolutely stunning views. Best way to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time.
We engaged Berivan Yildz for two days on our first-ever visit to Istanbul. She was very strongly recommended by friends who had worked with her recently. She is fluent in English and German, and extremely knowledgeable about Istanbul history and daily life in Turkey. She was flexible to accommodate our 7-year old granddaughter who was along for this trip. If you want to make your visit to Istanbul memorable, we strongly recommend Ms. Yildz (whatsap: 905322600897)!
The guide never showed up at the meeting place! I have not received any information from Viator about it, and would expect a refund!
Going to Istanbul and not taking the Bosphorus cruise would be a real shame. First of all because of the colors of the sky reflected on the water and then because you can admire neoclassical and baroque palaces from a privileged perspective. Cost: we travel with Alpitour and the cruise cost € 35 per person.
I showed up 20 minutes early to look for person to meet. NO ONE SHOWED UP. I'm livid. No communication at all, no apology after the fact. DO NOT BOOK THIS. They wasted the one night I had in Istanbul and provided zero communication. Disgusting way to do business.
Definitely worth having the tour guide for the cruise! Kerem was our guide and he was very informative and personable. It is on a public cruise so there are lots of other people around but we didn't have any problems hearing!
Our guide Jamen was excellent- he spoke great English and was filled with knowledge. We learned a lot about Istanbul and Turkish history. Highly recommend
Our guide was fantastic. Victor were a complete disaster Our guide had not been notified to expect us - a failing by viator. But he nevertheless gave us a fantastic experience. So 10 out of 10 for our guide, 0 out of 10 for viator.
