Itinerary
We will leave from Varenna along the promenade of lovers
Leaving Varenna we can admire the walk of the lovers, a short pedestrian path that leads from the Varenna pier to the center of the village; a cantilevered walkway over the water from which you can admire the lake and the mountains.
We will then pass by Villa Cipressi, a prestigious complex of ancient buildings and beautiful gardens enriched by a magnificent botanical garden, with staircases and terraces that descend to the lake.
Next we will meet the Villa, one of the main historical environmental landscape sites of the territory, thanks also to its privileged position. The complex consists of the villa itself, now transformed into a Museum is also home to an internationally known Convention Center, and the beautiful Botanical Garden that surrounds it, extending for almost 2 km following the shore of the lake.
We will then equip the lake and head towards Punta Spartivento, the watershed of Lake Como, the extreme tip of the Larian triangle that divides the two branches of the lake. It enjoys a wonderful view towards the north.
Next stop is Bellagio, known for its cobbled streets, elegant buildings and Villa Serbelloni Park, an 18th-century garden terrace overlooking the lake. Nearby, there are the Tower of the Arts, home to exhibitions and shows, and the Basilica of St. James from the Romanesque era. Near the rocky beach of Loppia, there is the Museum of Navigational Instruments, which displays sundials and compasses. With the 4-hour tour you can get off and visit the village.
Coming down from Bellagio we can admire the park of Villa Serbelloni
We will pass by the famous Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, a 5 star luxury hotel, once also called Castello di Bellagio.
The English gardens of 1815, enriched by sculptures rich in rare and exotic plants, there are ancient trees, camellia hedges, forests of azaleas and giant rhododendrons, stones and monuments, boats and relics of historical and artistic value.
We will then reach the west coast of the Como branch to arrive at Tremezzo, a well-known village full of hotels overlooking Bellagio.
We will then admire Villa Carlotta famous both for the art collections kept inside, and for the vast botanical garden that surrounds it.
Sailing south we will meet the imposing building in an eclectic style between neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic.
The Gulf of Venus is the suggestive stretch of Lake Lenno, the inlet following the promontory of Lavedo that on its southern summit sees the splendid villa from the Balbianello
On a peninsula from which you can enjoy enchanted views of the Lake, this elegant and romantic 18th century mansion and its amazing garden have hosted writers and travelers, today you can visit the Gardens and the villa, in the 4-hour tour you can go down and visit the gardens. We remind you that the purchase of tickets is mandatory and charged to the customer.
Villa la Cassinella is a private residence on the western shore of Lake Como, a few hundred meters from Villa del Balbianello. The whole estate is immersed in large perfectly maintained gardens.
The Villa is a historic residence in Ossuccio on Lake Como.
Ossuccio is a village of pre-Roman origin. In its hamlet of Ospedaletto rises the famous bell tower of the church of Santa Maria Maddalena. in front of the village is the Comacina island
The only island on Lake Como, in its canal hosts, in summer, swimmers who want to cool off with a swim in the lake. It is possible to swim safely.
We will then head towards Laglio to admire Villa Oleandra, home of George Clooney.
We will cross the lake to reach the east coast and the village of Nesso, a village clinging to the steep shores of the lake.
We will then be able to admire the ravine of Nesso, a natural waterfall that in the terminal part is overlooked by the bridge of Civera
The Civera bridge, a Roman bridge rebuilt with a medieval silhouette from which tourists love to dive for incredible shots.
Going northwards from the eastern shore we will meet Lezzeno, a village with a coast of 7km.
We will continue navigation to reach the meeting point in Varenna

We booked a 3 hour private tour and the experience was the absolute highlight of our trip! Captain Alex made sure that everything was perfect - great communication before the tour, we got to see so many beautiful places, Alex made sure we had amazing pictures, great music throughout the afternoon, and a quick stop for the BEST gelato. It was the kind of afternoon that makes you feel like you are in a dream. We highly recommend and can't wait to return to Varenna and book a full day to see more of the lake!

Mateo was an amazing boat captain and tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable and friendly beyond belief. He made us feel exceptionally welcomed and answered all questions we had. He was so kind. The boat ride was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. We are thinking of booking another tour but this time 4 or 6 hours.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Without a doubt, this was the best boat tour we have ever done. My family and I had an incredible experience, and a huge part of that was Matteo. He was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about Lake Como, its history, and the beautiful villas along the shore, but he was also one of the kindest and most welcoming guides we’ve ever met. My mother had actually never been on a boat before, and Matteo made her feel completely comfortable and at ease. He was patient, friendly, and genuinely cared that everyone was having a great time. We also had a few transportation issues and arrived later than planned. Despite our delays and all the back-and-forth communication, Matteo was unbelievably understanding, flexible, and accommodating. He treated us with so much kindness and patience, which we appreciated more than he knows. The scenery was breathtaking, the boat was beautiful, and Matteo’s passion for what he does truly made the experience special. It never felt rushed, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable time. Out of all the tours we have done during our travels, this was our favorite. Mateo was absolutely wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the villages and noted properties around the lake. As an architecture connoisseur that was much appreciated! You get a different perspective approaching from the water, than when touring the villages by ferry and on foot. My children really enjoyed the 3 hour boat tour as well. He was very friendly and tailored the experience to our pace. At one point we stopped by a little picturesque island to dip our feet in the lake off the boat aft and indulge in refreshments. Highly recommend and we would definitely do it again!

Very convenient pick up location if you're staying in Varenna. Right next to the ferry station. Reasonably priced and exceptional hospitality. We didn't feel rushed and tour was very informative. The boat was not prepared; didn't start fueling up the boat until we were already there waiting. The tour was supposed to start at 12:45 and we didn't start until after 1:05pm. In addition to not starting on time, the boat tour ended early. We did not get our entire 3 hours. The guide also spoke very little English and smoked the whole time and none of us smoke. Didn't even ask if we were ok with it. The scenery, however, was beautiful. Would have enjoyed it more if we had a different driver.
