14-Day Everest Base Camp Trek

Our Everest Base Camp trek with Magical Nepal exceeded all expectations. What initially drew us to Magical Nepal was the amount of detailed information available on their website. The trek descriptions, itineraries, and planning resources made it much easier to decide which adventure was the right fit for us. The booking process itself was very straightforward, payments were easy and secure, and their very flexible cancellation policy helped a lot with making our decision. Communication was excellent from the start. Any questions we had before arriving in Nepal were answered promptly, and the company handled all of the logistical details for the trek, including permits and flights to Lukla. Everything was covered exactly as outlined when we booked, with the additional costs to be expected (which were still minimal!). In Kathmandu, we attended a pre-trek briefing at the company's office (which is beautiful by the way). The team was welcoming, organized, and professional. They arranged our accommodations in Kathmandu as well as transportation to the airport. The duffel bag they provide for the porter was huge, and we had no problem fitting all of our things! Once we reached Lukla, we met our guide, Sagar, who was with us throughout the entire trip. Sagar is AWESOME. His knowledge of the region and experience in the mountains were evident from day one. Being from the region, we always seemed to pass other guides or people that knew him (he's a celebrity!). He monitored our pace and acclimatization, helping us ascend safely while minimizing the risk of altitude sickness. There were times where I had to walk quite slowly, or stop to catch my breath, and I never felt like it was a problem. One of the highlights of traveling with a local company was the opportunity to experience the Khumbu region through the eyes of people who call it home. Sagar grew up in the area, and his father, Kubir, served as our porter. Their warmth and hospitality made the trip incredibly memorable. During our descent, they welcomed us into their family home for a meal, where we met the rest of their family. Set right next to a beautiful stream amongst the green mountains, we got to enjoy homemade dal bhat and beef momo (which was insanely good by the way). Throughout the trek, Sagar shared insights about local traditions, history, and daily life that added a depth to the experience that would have been difficult to find elsewhere. Another thing was we went at the end of the trekking season, starting May 27th, which I would recommend! It does increase chance of rain since it is nearing the pre-monsoon season, but we had the BEST weather for the first 9 days. The trails and lodges were a lot less busy, and the scenery was more green and vibrant. Both of us successfully reached EBC and returned without any illness or other issues! While mountain trekking always involves variables outside anyone's control, we felt that the support provided by the entire Magical Nepal team played a significant role in our success. The flights out of Lukla were cancelled the day of our departure back to Kathmandu. It was stressful at first, but our guide and company were on it right away, ensuring a helicopter for us to return home that day (it was very impressive). From start to finish, Magical Nepal delivered an exceptional experience. Their professionalism, transparency, local expertise, and commitment to their clients stood out at every stage of the journey. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a trek in Nepal, and we especially recommend requesting Sagar as a guide if you have the opportunity! (10/10)

I had an AMAZING experience booking this trek with Magical Nepal. We were deciding between doing this trek (EBC) and the Annapurna Circuit. The Magical Nepal website has extensive information about every trek option which helped us pick which trek was the best for us! Booking online was very easy and payment online was secure. They also have a very generous cancellation policy which made me feel comfortable with booking in advance just in case something happened right before leaving for the trek. Leading up to the trek, the company was very responsive via email if we had any questions. They also took care of all the logistics for the actual trek — like flights to Luka and permits for the national park. Once I paid the rate that is listed online, everything was taken care of and there were no hidden fees. I did obviously pay additional for rental gear (like sleeping bag) and any extra drinks or snacks on the trek (outside of the 3 meals a day which are included in the flat rate), as well as tips for our guide and porter. The website is transparent about those extra charges though, so I was completely prepared. Once in Kathmandu, we met at the Magical Nepal office for our briefing the day before leaving for the mountain. The office space is very nice and everyone we met was friendly and professional. They arranged our stay that night in Kathmandu as well as transport to the hotel and airport the next morning. (this is also included in the package, no extra fees!) We met up with our guide, Sagar, in Lukla and were under his hospitality for the whole trek. We never once felt unsafe during the trek. Our guide knew the region extremely well and made sure we were ascending at a rate that we wouldn’t get altitude sickness. The company also advised us well during the initial briefing and throughout the trek what would be safe to eat and drink. Working with Magical Nepal, being a local company I believe gives them an edge over some of the international trekking companies. We had such an authentic experience which I think would be more rare to get from an international company. Our guide, Sagar, is from the Khumbu region and his dad, Kubir, was our porter. They even graciously invited us into their home for a meal in our way back down to Lukla. It was seriously the best meal I had in our whole month-long stay in Nepal. Sagar was happy to answer and questions that we had about the local history and culture, as well as his own personal experience growing up in that area and attending the Hillary school. I felt completely immersed in the local culture and learned so much along the trek. I’m happy to say that we both made it to Base Camp and back without any illnesses or setbacks! While that’s obviously not guaranteed, I attribute a lot of our success to the Magical Nepal team. We could not have accomplished that without our guide, our porter, and everyone working behinds the scenes to make the treks go smoothly. When we could not get a flight out of Lukla due to the weather but needed to get back to Kathmandu to make our flight home, Magical Nepal was very diligent in helping us to get a helicopter out. Overall we had a 5 star experience with Magical Nepal and I can guarantee you won’t regret booking your trek with them, and also requesting Sagar as your guide!

Our Everest Base Camp trek with Magical Nepal exceeded every expectation and turned out to be the best trip of my life - and I’ve travelled a lot! The scenery was breathtaking, the trekking was challenging in all the right ways, and every detail of the journey was handled professionally from start to finish. We always felt supported, prepared, and able to focus on enjoying the experience. The true heroes were our guide, Shikhur, and our porter, Heraman. I cannot praise them highly enough. Throughout the trek, they went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, comfortable, and enjoying every moment. They always seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even asked. It was an honour to walk alongside them, to learn so much from them about the local culture, and to get to know them as some of the kindest and hardest working people I’ve ever met. With Shikhur and Heraman by our side, we felt completely safe and confident every step of the way. The friendship and connection we built along the trail became one of the most meaningful parts of the entire experience. If you're considering trekking to Everest Base Camp, I wholeheartedly recommend Magical Nepal. And if you have the opportunity to trek with Shikhur and Heraman, consider yourself incredibly lucky. Hi everyone! I've just come from doing an Everest Base Camp Trek with the company Magical Nepal, and I honestly couldn't have asked for, nor expected, a better experience. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized; food, hotels, flights ect, which really helped me to fully enjoy one of the most unforgettable adventures of my life, completely stress free. A huge part of what made this trek so special was my absolutely amazing guide, Shikhar, and my helpful and friendly porter, Hera. Shikhar was absolutely outstanding throughout the entire journey, his knowledge of the region, the mountains, and his own local culture/ experiences added so much value. His companionship and encouragement was so beneficial on the trek, i honestly don't think i would've made it to base camp without him. He was always so attentive, professional, patient, and uplifting,  especially on the days i didn't know if i could make it or not (basically the whole trek). Hera was just as amazing. His kindness, positivity, and strength carrying all my extra weight were truly appreciated every single day. I mean scaling a mountain with over 20kg on your back with zero complaints????  Knowing that Hera was always there a step behind me, helping carry my gear, made the trek significantly more enjoyable, especially since he was always so kind and positive, it made me feel guilty! The combination of Shikhar's excellent guidance and Hera's support made an already incredible trek even better. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made it feel more like trekking with family than simply being clients on a tour, especially with our afternoon card games with some hot ginger tea! Everest Base Camp is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I am so grateful that I chose Magical Nepal to take that journey with. I’m incredibly grateful that I got to experience this journey with this amazing team. They were easy to work with when organising the trip to Everest Base Camp. Everything felt clear and well planned from the start. Our guide, Sager, kept things running smoothly and made the experience enjoyable. He was approachable, supportive, and quickly became someone we saw as a friend. Simple moments like playing card games in the teahouses helped bring the group together and made the trip more memorable. The two porters were also very kind and reliable. They were always ready to help and made a big difference in keeping everything running well

100% recommend booking with Magical Nepal. Just completed Everest base camp trek. I did this with my partner (21)and two brothers (15)(23). We had the most amazing guide, Sagar, who constantly went above and beyond! He was not only knowledgeable about all aspects of the trek, but also ensured the experience was fun and tailored to our abilities. Sagar, also regularly stayed up playing cards with us, and taught us much about the Nepalese culture. HE WAS A 10/10 GUIDE. On the trek we always felt looked after and safe in his hands. All 4 of us made it to base camp and back and this is thanks to him and our two amazing porters, Parkhi, and Jakkubin. Without these two men our trek would have been impossible, they were both so kind and always greeted us with the biggest smiles. Finally, magical Nepals admin was perfect from getting us two and from the international airport, to booking an extra nights accommodation for me before the trek at a hotel, they were always there to help with my requests. I communicated with them mainly on WhatsApp and always had fast replies to all my needs. Definitely book this trek! It was amazing and was made by our amazing support team of guides or porters!

We went through Magical Nepal for our Trek to EBC and back. They helped make everything run smoothly from pickup to drop off. It was good to sit down with them before we started the trek and get a general look at what each day will be like and what we should expect. Our Guide Sagar is a legend, and always put in the extra work to make the trip one of a kind. Very friendly and experienced, he made everyday fun and kept the team morale high. Every day was easy with him as our guide. I also want to shoutouts our porters Parkhi and Jakkubin who carried our extra supplies couldn’t have done it without them. When I come back I will go through Magical Nepal and request the same team again. These legends will make your trip unforgettable.

We went for the Everest base camp trek in a group of five people in April 2026. The entire itinerary was planned and executed by magical Nepal. They planned the entire thing right from a landing at Kathmandu airport to us, departing from Kathmandu back to our home cities. They were very helpful in planning the entire trip and took care of our personal requirements as well. I highly recommend magical Nepal for any treks that you may want to do in Nepal region.
