13 Days Jomolhari Trek from Paro to Thimphu Via Lingzhi

Description
Lace up your boots and venture beyond traditional trekking into Bhutan’s iconic Jomolhari Trek from Paro to Thimphu via Lingzhi, through scenic Himalayan mountains, stunning landscapes, pristine forests and mirror lakes. This 13-Day journey includes full day excursion in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and a hike to the famous Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) precariously perched on the face of a rock cliff. The actual trekking is for 9 Days (days 3-11) which starts from Paro valley and ends in Thimphu. Jomolhari Trek is longer than the Jomolhari Loop – the most popular trekking route in Bhutan. With altitude differences of 2,500m and nearly 5,000m it offers a wide range of landscapes, fauna and flora. The highlight of this trek is the spectacular view of Mount Jomolhari from Jomolhari Basecamp (Jangothang) and interacting with unique highlanders at an alpine village called Laya.

Incredible! I feel so fortunate that I chose Bhutan Acorn for my trip. From the quality of communications which were always timely and considerate to the warmth of the welcome and support the guides provided me, it was an unforgettable experience. The company knew this was a special experience for me and did everything they could and more to make it great. They allowed me to adjust the schedule within reason so I could spend time with family friends, provided additional recommendations and experiences based on my interests, and held a range of interesting friendly conversations throughout my experience. As a solo traveller, I can't express how grateful I am for the way the guides supported me and made me feel like one of their own. But, it was the little things they did that really stood out. For example, nearing the end of our trek, we discussed favourite foods after multiday treks (pizza and beer for me) and things we look forward to such as hot showers and your own bed of course. And to my delight the guides had organised a surprise pizza and beer picnic by a river on our return to Thimphu! Simple and thoughtful kind acts like this is what made my experience with this company so special. They're a family-oriented group, which evident in all their work and how they treat people. Of course, the trek through the Himalayas was awe inspiring, but I'll remember the people the most thanks to their warm hospitality and how they educated me about their rich culture.
