Doing The Most in Senegal / The Gambia

Home over a week now; and still reliving with friends/family good times in Senegal/The Gambia, now want to update review with more sharing! The awesomeness of it all. Starting with my first three nights’ accommodations outlooking the Atlantic Ocean!; All the awe-inspiring attractions, activities, and more, including the African Renaissance Monument, The Museum of Black Civilization, Ile de Goree, Lake Retba (“pink glake”); Three course Brunch w/ music, dancing and fresh shrimp+ all barbequed & served right on the river; Visiting the twin village of Joal-fadiouth; exploring the Saloum Delta and villages. The Banju-Barry Ferry crossing into The Gambia’s capital city, Banjul; visiting Albreda Juffureh, the historic enslaved peoples trade post on the north bank of the Gambia River; A night out on the town in Senegambia enjoying jazz & R&B; The National Museum, Boat travel to Kuntah Kintae Island - Gambia River’s “Never Again - Door of No Return;” Spontaneous visit with a very generous and kind local Casamance family in Eloubaline, Ediounguou and overnight at the comfortable / friendly family run retreat. Visiting Oussouye, Mlomp and la pointe St. Georges’s Abuko Nature Reserve, Kachikally Museum of Crocodile Santuary; and The River Gambia National Park. Visit to Museum Kadioute de boucottel. DSS Flight Returning to Dakar; for a day and night winding down before wrapping up the tour - visiting Bandia Reserve’s Rhinoceros, Giraffes, Zebras, Crocodiles and more. My farewell lunch was a thoughtful serving of Sengalese Okra Stew, “Soup Kandia.” I will always remember and be grateful for the expertise and hospitality of everyone involved throughout my stay. Kudos to Amadou Barry, for an amazing job of arranging and networking all Sights and Visits, Transportation, Hotel accommodations and Local Guides. Shout out to Malang! I’m also very grateful for Ibou’s skilled driving and even temperament, ensuring getting us to and from every destination, always safely, on time and always “InchaAllah.” My sincere gratitude and praise to both gentlemen for making sure my Senegal/The Gambia experience ticked all my boxes: culturally immersive, adventurous, comfortable and safe. THANK YOU, Agsil Senegal Travel Tours!!!

Agsil Senegal Tours i actually got to live Senegal and Gambia, experiencing the history, culture, language & food

All around amazing! Starting day 1 with Amadou's genuine welcoming; and throughout my 12 days. Every aspect of the tour was well planned and coordinated. This was truly an immersive experience, with loads of adventure and just the right balance of relaxation too.

A Dream Come True

I have read about Senegal and Gambia, West Africa, and yearned to visit, see, taste, hear, and feel those things I read. Agsil Senegal Travel Tours provided an excursion that went beyond my expectations. Amadou Barry, our guide and the owner of Agsil Senegal Travel Tours, knows the area and has many contacts throughout the region. I was provided with an experience I will never forget. I cannot say that our tour did not have hiccups because it did. But, I can say that Amadou Barry always had a contingency plan readily available when needed. I will use Agsil Senegal Travel Tours again. Amadou Barry and his staff were more than experts on the region. They were courteous, friendly, and experts in customer care services.

Fantastic experience

Amadou Barry is an incredible tour guide. He is so kind and knowledgable about both Senegal and the Gambia. He speaks several languages which helps to get anything needed accomplished. Our tour had several "bumps in the road" along the way - Amadou got us out of all of them - working very hard, but keeping the tour smooth and well run. We were exposed to incredible cultural activities, people, foods, boat rides, music, dance, museums - just everything. Quite fantastic. Whether planning a shorter or possible longer trip to this area, I highly recommend using Agsil Senegal/Amadou Barry.
