Important Information
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- This tour can be customized and run on a private basis just for you and your group.
- We highly recommend booking at least a few months before the departure date so that we have enough time to ensure the flights are available. To process visa, it only takes 4-5 business days.
- There are only two airlines that connect Bhutan with the outside world and so securing air tickets can be difficult especially during the months of high season. Currently, Bhutan is connected with these cities - Bagdogra, Bangkok, Delhi, Dhaka, Guwahati, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Singapore. We recommend you to book your international flights few months in advance especially if you plan to visit during the high season months of March to May and September to November. If you need help in arranging flights to/from Bhutan, please let us know much in advance.
- After you book the tour, kindly send us clear passports copies of all the participants. A biodata page including the machine-readable zone must be seen clearly. Passports should have a minimum of 6 MONTHS validity from the day you depart from Bhutan. You may also want to check the passport requirements by your next destination country after Bhutan. A copy of your e-Visa will be emailed to you once it is approved. It only takes 4-5 business days to get visa approval and it is 100 percent guaranteed as long as we receive clear passport copies of all the participants. Actual visa will be stamped on your passport upon arrival. Send the passport copies to the Local Supplier E-mail address.
- Participants below the age of 18 years old MUST be accompanied by at least one adult.

What can I say?...My dream to travel to Bhutan turned into reality this year after many years of promising myself I would visit this beautiful country. Acorn were a responsive, helpful and courteous travel Agency. As a solo woman traveller I was reassured by Acorn's knowledge and honesty. My stay and tour was above and beyond my expectations! Norbu the guide was extremely knowledgable, he knew every bird call, flower and took on my thoughts around accessing places of interest ( get there early to avoid crowds!) Tsering the Driver drove calmly and got us to our destinations safely and swiftly...not once did I feel frightened of the huge drops, bumpy roads and winding passes that we experienced on our way to different parts of Bhutan. I hope to return to this amazing country in the hear future as it was more than I expected on every level!
My sister has also posted a review of this trip but I'd like to add my praises for our guide and diver, Norbu and Nidup, as well as appreciation for the whole experience of working with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travels. Acorn adapted one of their standard itineraries for us andvwe were there for a total of 17 days. They were very accommodating and made sure we got what we wanted out of our travels. Acorn was a delight to work with. I felt we could entirely relax knowing that we were in capable hands. Norbu was a patient and gracious guide. We learned so much from him. He also was good company--important as we spent considerable time together. A bonus that we didn't know to look for is that Norbu is a passionate birder! He was excellent at spotting and identifying birds which gave the trip an added dimension. We couldn't be more grateful to Norbu for getting us safely up and down through seven hikes. Nidup kept us safe on the incredible roads. The roads themselves were a pretty remarkable part of the country. I NEVER would have wanted to drive them myself. Nidup also made fine company. We had very interesting conversations about each of our countries. Nidup is very curious about the world. He provided the sound track for our trip, as he is quite fond of music. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company or these two staff. P. S. Did I mention they gave me a surprise birthday party?!

We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to host you in Bhutan. Best wishes, Karma & Team Bhutan Acorn
I did the 9-day tour through Bhutan and had an incredible experience — thanks in large part to the amazing Acorn team who took care of everything. First of all, I have to say: the driver, Gyeltshen, really stood out. I’ve never experienced such a skilled driver — he completely mastered the winding mountain roads and made me feel safe and comfortable at all times. That alone made a huge difference during the long drives. My guide, Sonam, was calm, knowledgeable, and shared great insights throughout the trip. Everything was well organised, the pace was perfect, and I felt really well taken care of. Highly recommended if you're looking for a thoughtful, well-run way to experience Bhutan! Thank you, Bhutan Acorn!
Dear Frank, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you had an incredible 9-day journey in Bhutan and enjoyed traveling with Sonam and Gyeltshen. It was our pleasure to take care of your trip, and we would be delighted to welcome you back anytime! Warm regards, Karma & Team Bhutan Acorn
It was a wonderful journey in an impressive for us very authentic Asian country. Unlike other Asian countries, however, life here is much quieter and with a culture deeply influenced by Buddhism. Even before the trip we had an intensive exchange with Bhutan Acorn Travel, where our personal wishes such as visiting the Tshechu Festival in Paro were taken into account. Even during the trip everything could be adjusted flexibly, thanks also to our guide and the driver. In short, a local travel organization that knows and knows the possibility, highly recommended.
Talking to other travellers during our stay in Bhutan, we realised that we had been very lucky with our agency. The tour itself was well organised, the communication beforehand was excellent, fast and helpful. We also had an amazing guide, Norbu, who made our trip magical and very special. With his incredible knowledge of the country's history, recent developments, Buddhism, flora, fauna and so much more, we couldn't have asked for more. Coupled with his openness and humour, we enjoyed every single moment. It was quite impressive to see his professionalism despite his young age. In addition, we so much enjoyed observing his interaction with local people, especially kids. If you plan to book this tour - ask for Norbu as your guide.
I am one of four women who shared a vision of going to Bhutan. My friends and I would be considered “active seniors”. We wrote to a few companies and Bhutan Acorn was the first to respond. Bhutan Acorn continued to be responsive to every question and request we made. We were impressed by Karma P’s (the owner’s) efficiency, attention to detail as well as his patience. We traveled in April 2023 to many sites and hiked many trails, ending in the Taktsang hike (Tiger’s Nest). Our guide, Thinley S, and our driver, Sonam D, deserve special recognition. As cultural ambassadors, they represented the best of Bhutan - knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind and good-humored. Throughout the hikes and treks, our guide made sure that we were safe, that we got food that was compatible with our taste and that we were comfortable in our hotels. Our driver safely got us to our various destinations despite some tricky road conditions and made thoughtful gestures like getting cough drops when one of us developed a cough. I should mention that, by my own fault, I sustained a wrist injury that required some medical visits. Thinley, Sonam and Karma did a lot of problem-solving so that my friends could continue enjoying their day while I saw the doctors. In this spontaneous situation (that is, out of the planned itinerary), I was touched by their personal and professional attention and care. In terms of advice, I would say be sure to bring trekking poles, stay hydrated on the trails, be respectful to the land, the temples and those who guide and serve you. And don’t miss taking a stone bath! All in all, I believe you will be very pleased if you travel with Bhutan Acorn. I highly recommend them.
Dear Frances, Thank you for letting us know you had a great time in Bhutan. Our main priority is to ensure that our guests are safe, comfortable and enjoying the trip. Thank you once again for giving us an opportunity to serve you and your lovely friends. We all wish you and your loved ones good health and happiness. Karma & Team Bhutan Acorn
Thank you for the fabulous tour you created for us and your wonderful team, Tashi and Tinzhin. Tashi was a spectacular guide who took excellent care of me as some of the hikes, especially to Bundrak, was quite hard for me due to the altitude. I would have never been able to accomplish my goal of making it to the top if it wasn't for him. Tashi was knowledgeable and regaled us with many conversations about culture and historical facts. Tinzhin was an excellent driver, amazing every time he maneuvered the tiny one-lane roads, and always so sweet, helping me with packages and caring for our picnic lunches. It was an experience I'll never forget! I hope to return someday to this beautiful country with its lovely people.
Dear Mari Stella, Namey Samey Kadrinchey for taking out the time to give us a review. Customer service is a priority for us. Tashi is a certified trekking as well as a cultural guide and I am glad he took care of you well. If you ever plan to visit Bhutan again, do let us know. We would love to welcome you with open arms and hearts. We wish you good health, peace and happiness! Karma & Team Bhutan Acorn Tours
