1 Hour Guided Factory Visit for Handmade Product

We went meeting point ,it was just five minutes walking time for in house factory of Nature Design. They were show us how to made 100% natural scrubbers step by step most of them hand made with small locally made tools. This was first experience about coir for us. Cocount tree is wonderful tree is very useful for day to day life of Sri Lanka. They used all parts of cocount tree. This is immersive manufauring model for go green concept. Small factory all so generate employee oppounity for unemployment women.

Enjoyed the experience. Couldn't get to the Shopping part fast enough. It's always a suprise the number of wags a single material can be implemented. I ordered a number of items and they were kind enough to deliver to me nearby the next day.

Amazing area, great experience and friendly staff. Showes you the process of how each piece came to be. We would have loved seeing demonstrations of the process of making the coconut husk yarn, why are the pieces made in that shape or yarn, and benefits of such products on a personal level and environmental. I strongly agree and support such businesses and life style, we purchased a year worth of cleaning equipments and a box of coconut chips for our plants! Straight from the source 💕

We were staying Mirissa two weeks and search new excision around Mirissa and we booked Nature Design factory visit , it was new experiences both of us how to made 100% natural scrubbers by local raw materials, they manufacturing natural scrubbers for national and international market under Nature Design brand name . They actually positive contribute to environmental friendly and recycling products and encourage people using recycling , natural products. That date only both of us , it was like private tour , they only take 10 people for one session, our session 1 hour and 15 minutes . We would like the recommend this excursion other travels as well.

I was born in Sri Lanka but living in Australia more than 40 years . After 10 years, I was visit Sri Lanka with my family January 2025. I was book one hour factory visit tour of this company, because it was looking like interested and new excursion. This is not a very crowded and they are take only 10 tourists one time , that date we were only tourists and it was like private tour and they were flexible change the time as well. It was very interesting they were manufacturing 100% natural scrubbers , pot holders using local raw materials for national and international markets. There was no noise or dust , because all of them hand made with simple tools. There highly contribute to go green concept and employees all so women, they came from village unprivileged background. They were working with smile, we were all so buy their natural scrubbers . This is small factory in house. Highly recommend travelers, great experience about local coir products.
