The city is built on several hills and valleys. Kigali compromises of 3 major districts and these include Nyarugenge, Kicukiro and Gasabo. Our Kigali city tour excursion explores the major historical and cultural sites of Rwanda. The trip begins after breakfast.

Memorial The Kigali Genocide Memorial includes three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. There is also a children’s memorial and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence around the world. The Education Centre, Gardens, and Genocide Archive of Rwanda form part of a meaningful tribute to those who perished, and provide a powerful educational tool for visitors.

The lively market is full of fruits, Popularity, fireworks, different type clothes, hand made (souvenirs ), etc... this is the most simple image of Africans life, At the entrance of the market, there are uniformly dressed yellow porters, their clothes printed with numbers, specially for the guests to carry bags, carry, by the market management, do not wear uniforms will be fined.
Mount Kigali or Mont Kigali in French, is a hill in Kigali City, Rwanda, after which the city was named. Mount Kigali is located directly West of the city center in Nyarugenge District. The majority of Nyarugenge District is located on the slopes of Mont Kigali. The western slopes of Mount Kigali end in the valley of the river Nyabarongo. At a height of 1,853 metres (6,079 ft), along with the taller Mont Jali at 2,078 metres (6,818 ft) directly to its North, it dominates over other hills in the city as they rise between 1300 and 1600 m. As a result, Mount Kigali offers expansive views of the entire city of Kigali to the east and north, the Southern Province to the west and south, and the Eastern Province to the east and south.

Today was one of the most moving days for me. I was not sure what to expect in coming to Rwanda, and I knew I wanted to come to support a friend who survived the genocide 30Ys ago: I had a day alone to explore Kigali b4 mtg him in his village tomorrow. My day with Justin was so far beyond. We started with the history of Rwanda pre and into colonial times & then moved to the genocide memorial. The level of tragedy is unconscionable but what impacted me most is seeing how the country has healed and created a very different country today. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Justin was the best - humble, gentle, knowledgeable & very open. Learning his own story along side seeing the impact and aftermath of that kind of violence and how the country came together is a model for all of in these times.

I had very few days in Kigali and to be able to see as much as possible I contacted Silverbird Tours. They replied fast in e-mail and gave me all the information I needed before going. On the day of the tour company came exactly on time to my hotel. The driver Justin was very nice to travel with and he gave me the chance to see and do exactly what I wanted to. Without the conpany and the driver I would not had the chance to see and experience so much of Kigali. Wonderful service!
