Because it’s probably only nice if you want to snorkel. If you don’t want that there are most likely better choices you can make
Rough Sea but very skilled Operators made it as unforgettable experience Windy weather within these days made this trip unpredictable. We used one opportunity and do not regret. Thanks to real professional operators we felt safe and should enjoy this trip
We were lucky to be in a group composed of only 3 people, which gave us plenty of opportunities to chat with Angelo, Brighton, Jean-Claude and Kruger. We got plenty of information on the seals that live by Robberg peninsula, but also on the other marine life species around the area. The experience of actually getting in the water with those curious, beautiful creatures was just amazing and I highly recommend it! I’ll be coming back for sure. Thanks a lot guys!
This Seal Watching Tour is really great. Nice people, well organized. It’s definitely worth the time. Expect a thrill.
We booked the tour to see the seals. The guide was professional and pleasant, and it was fantastic to observe the seals in their natural habitat. On our boat, there were two couples who went swimming with the seals, which also gave us a glimpse of their experience. At first, we regretted not choosing the swimming option ourselves, but after some reflection, our perspective changed. I am a medical doctor, and I would advise against swimming with the seals. While it must certainly be an incredible experience, there are confirmed cases of seals carrying rabies. These animals can be aggressive, and their bite can be fatal. This risk was not clearly explained to the swimmers by the guides, so I would like to share this warning here. If you want to see the seals, I recommend choosing the safer option and staying on the boat.
Great boat trip along robberg where we saw a lot of seals along the way. The boat “flies” in and out of the water and is an experience in itself. What we didn't know is that this is the same tour as the one where people go swimming with the seals. So you sail to the swimming spot and once there you float in the same spot for more than half an hour while the others dive out of your boat into the water. And then you go back. Eventually we found out in advance and we could arrange for the children to swim with the seals, which was a very nice experience for them.
We booked a seal viewing tour but ended up in watching people swimming with seals as they combine viewing and swimming tours. Due to security reasons for the people in the water the boat had to stay at one place and we could not encounter people free seals or seals on land. Very disappointing - worst tour we ever booked. The tour also only started 30 min later but ended in time so it was very short. The boat does not have a ledder. Tour is not suitable for smaller kids or older people as said in their description.
Dear Dario_F, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that sometimes the seal viewing experience can be combined with swimming activities, as the tour often includes both seal viewing and opportunities to swim with them, if conditions allow. With over 8,000 seals in the colony, we are confident you will see plenty of these incredible animals during the tour. We also want to assure you that we take extra care to ensure all our guests have an enjoyable and comfortable trip. Climbing up the boat with the ladder and disembarking on the beach is standard practice, designed for safety and convenience. Our tours are enjoyed by many travelers of all ages, including older and younger visitors, and we strive to make every experience memorable. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We will address your concerns with the skipper and guide to better understand their side and to continue improving our tours. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Thank you again for your review.
Besides The tour starting half an hour late ( we were told to be there half an hour beforehand). - we stood around for very long. However the tour guide Angelo and Red were fabulous and we enjoyed the excursion and enjoyed the seals and got lots of information from Angelo and Red. Was awesome to see the seals from a different angle and so close up. The tour took one hour -
Glad you enjoyed your tour. We are working diligently to ensure the timely departure of our tours. We will continue to improve.
