We had a great time with Jason and Deb on this tour. They were so knowledgeable about the area and everything we saw including seals and birds. They were highly professional and put everyone's safety first. Would highly recommend!
Enthusiastic guide, very knowledgeable about the local floral and fauna. It was a sunny day and we enjoyed the trip.
Jason and Deb were excellent guides and made the tour enjoyable from start to finish. We saw so many amazing sights, including seals, eagles, and a variety of sea birds. Their knowledge and enthusiasm added to the experience, and we appreciated all the information they shared along the way. A great tour that we would highly recommend!
What a great tour! Our original tour was cancelled due to weather but we were able to book the next day. Jason was fantastic in rebooking. He's also a very knowledgeable and great guide! We saw frolicking seals, jellyfish and the elusive puffin! If you have the time this is definitely a tour to take!
I really enjoyed this tour with Jason around some of the bays and islands of the south shore, Nova Scotia. It was a cold day but I was dressed for the weather and enjoyed every minute of it! Jason was very considerate of my comfort and safety and that of the other 5 guests, as well as keeping us informed about where we were going and what we were looking at. He is a very knowledgeable guide with tons of experience not only in this area but in other remote parts of the world. I really enjoyed hearing his stories about the people and the animals in the places he’s been. He also told us a lot about the geological history of Nova Scotia, pointing out remarkable examples of the glacial impact on the land from the last ice age. I loved all that. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
My husband and I had an amazing, intimate tour experience along the coastal shores of Lunenburg. Our guide, Jason, was extremely knowledgeable about the local ecology and marine life, and the Zodiac boat allowed us to stay close to the shoreline and easily explore different areas of the water. We saw seal pups, several seabird species, and a variety of other local wildlife and plant species. The hosts were always respectful of the environment, and one of the advantages of the small boat was the opportunity to disembark on some of the islands, which made the experience even more special. This excursion ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip to Nova Scotia. The tour concluded with a snack and beverage, and it was clear how passionate Jason and Deb are about what they do. We would love to join them again someday—perhaps on one of their polar adventures! Highly recommended.
Friendly, knowledgeable guide. Lots of animal spottings and places to observe from. Thank you Jason and Deb!
You’re welcome, Kathleen! It was a pleasure hosting you!!
Excellent boat tour along the coast of Nova Scotia! Jason is a great guide and knows a lot about geology, wildlife, and plant life. We saw seals, many birds, and even a puffin! Thank you, Deb, for the coffee and cake.
Thanks for joining us on a tour, Karin! It was a pleasure hosting you!
We took a 2‑hour zodiac eco tour with Expedition Nova Scotia in July 2025, and it was easily one of the most memorable boat trips we’ve done on any vacation. Beautiful coves, small islands, seals, and plenty of wildlife. Jason was a fantastic guide, and the small group made the experience personal and relaxed. We stopped at three islands to explore, learn about local biodiversity, and even pick wild blueberries. After returning to the dock, Jason and his wife Deb welcomed us with gin, homemade tarts, and great conversation around their patio fire. Deb’s handmade rope‑doormats were lovely, and she went out of her way to ship one to us when we couldn’t fit it in our luggage. Wonderful people and a top‑quality experience. Highly recommend.
The zodiac tour of the beautiful coast line was spectacular. Enjoying the ocean wildlife and historical knowledge of the local ways shared by our captain, Jason, was a great way to take in the beautiful scenery. And our youngest got the chance to operate the zodiac, so what can be better than that? Enjoyed the post trip snacks and drinks on the dock. A great way to close off the adventure. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
