It was a great day enjoying the Victoria Falls from both Zimbabwe and Zambia. Guides and drivers were really nice and friendly!
Cuckoo picked us up and dropped us at our hotel. Sheldon on the Zimbabwe side and lucky on the Zambia side were excellent guides including helping us through the ancient machinery of Zimbabwe immigration. Highly recommended
I gave this tour a 4 out of 5 due to the pushy nature of the drivers . This was one of the lower scoring tours from our visit to Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa , Kenya and finally the 2 Z countries in Southern Africa . The guides on the Zim and Zam sides were good who provided info, raincoats and walked with us to see the falls . The guides were just meant to drive us 1-2 km to the border from both sides . A very simple job but they were very pushy for tips and were very blatant about it . Hence this marred the experience . Company could be a little bit more responsive as well as they tend to be curt in the responses at give delayed responses which also affects the experiences . In short , the logistics , comms could be better but the guides saved the tour . However as we laid US$100 for the 2 of us for a group tour , paying up to US$40 from expected top is way too much . Even Americans won’t top so much at 40% of the tour price. Hence it was given an average rating as we felt like walking wallets .

Cilo on the Zimbabwe side was phenomenal and could not recommend him enough. Very lively and entertaining, knowledgeable and always there to help you get “the best memory photo” as he would say lol Only call out is I personally would rather pay the entrance fees baked into the price of the tour. Also driver on Zambia side was 20min late to pick us up

Since the parks still charge you to enter and it’s largely self explanatory and could easily be self guided I was questioning if the tour was necessary while we were on the Zimbabwe side. The ease of taking us to the Zambia side was well worth it in the end though, and that side was maybe even more spectacular. Overall you pay for transportation (which in Zimbabwe is not cheap), rain poncho rentals (essential), and not wasting a second figuring out where to go. As it was on the cheaper side for tours I’d say it was certainly worth it instead of going on your own and of course the falls were absolutely stunning.

Informative, fun and really easy & safe. Really good guides both sides and an easy border crossing (kaza bisa). They provide ponchos but I’m glad I also took ziplocks for my electricals. Most of the trails are dry to damp (in June) but when you’re really close to the falls spray it’s soaking.

My boyfriend and I had a fabulous day trip from Kasane. Victoria falls is unfathomable on its own but to have the guides explain everything just added to the experience. All the guides were so helpful and made the experience seem less even with the border crossings. (Which can often be difficult!) We learnt so much about both Zambia and Zimbabwe and will definitely visit both again. I would highly recommend booking with Cuckoo Safaris. Only note bring cash as card machines at borders are temperamental 😅
