Beginnen Sie Ihre Tour mit einem Besuch der Altstadt des Alpendorfes Zermatt mit seinen typischen Holzhäusern. Der Spaziergang führt Sie weg von der typischen Hauptstraße und Sie gelangen durch die typischen Gassen von Zermatt.

Der Friedhof zeigt Ihnen, wie knapp der Erfolg der Besteigung des Matterhorns und die Risiken sind. Es gehört zur Geschichte von Zermatt, dass Unfälle beim hochalpinen Klettern passieren.
Vom Hotel Monte Rosa aus startete die Erstbesteigung des Matterhorns. Mehrere Informationen über die Erstbesteigung und ihre historische Tragödie sind hier verfügbar.
Bei einer 30-minütigen Fahrt mit der Zahnradbahn erreichen Sie eine Höhe von bis zu 10000 Fuß. In diesem hochalpinen Gebiet erwarten Sie herrliche Ausblicke auf das Matterhorn und die Gletscher. Der Gornergrat liegt das ganze Jahr über im Schnee.
Der Gornergrat ist ein Bergrücken auf einer Höhe von 3135 m ü. M. Es liegt etwa drei Kilometer östlich von Zermatt im Schweizer Kanton Wallis. Der Gornergrat liegt zwischen dem Gornergletscher und dem Findelgletscher und bietet Ausblicke auf über 20 Viertausender, darunter den Monte Rosa, das Matterhorn und den Liskamm. Die Gornergratbahn führt von Zermatt (1620 m ü. M.) auf den Gornergrat und überwindet einen Höhenunterschied von fast 1500 Metern. An der Endstation (3089 m ü. M.) auf der Südwestspitze des Grats befindet sich das Kulmhotel, das höchstgelegene Berghotel der Schweiz. Tony was our guide for the day and he was excellent!!! Met us on time at the hotel and enjoyed a nice walk around Zermatt explaining about the town, its history and development before taking the train up the mountain. I believe we saw much more and had a great experience as Tony knew where and when to get thru all there was to see and do. Very much worth the time. We would highly recommend!! During a day of skiing, we caught this train along the way (free with the pass), which took us to the top of the Gornergrat. The employee even delayed the departure by a few seconds, seeing us run with heavy feet!!! The view is splendid, the weather was great and the ski descent is worth the walk! Landscape to sweep with binoculars! Return to Zermatt, via chairlifts that pass over the chamois! What happiness!
We took a journey from the legendary trains to Switzerland .. We are delighted with it!! This rack train climbs up to 3100m altitude!! fabulous; with breathtaking views!! the sea of ice , up there!! and all the mountains , including Matterhorn , all white everywhere , in July!! it refreshes!! by panoramic train..
