Reiseverlauf

Amazing safari tour and guide. Pick up 3 am from hotel in mirissa, entered the park at 6am. Saw a range of elephants, water buffalo, lizards, mongoose, jackle, deer, monkeys crocodiles, native birds and even a leopard on the way out of the park. Was good value experience and day, with a traditional breakfast included cooked by his family.
We had a fantastic experience. Hestha organised the most perfect private tour for us for my partners birthday, including seamless transfers from and to accommodation and a brilliant tour where we got to see leopards, elephants, monkeys, deer, mongoose to name a few. Our driver Priyan was very experienced and Hestha knew a lot of facts about the park and wildlife which enriched the trip further. We had no stress at all as everything including park tickets was included in the price. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
This tour was amazing! Hestha was very passionate about animals and explained to us everything with detail. We went to Block 1 and we saw TWO leopards!!!
We had two great safaris with Yala Odyssey Tours, organised by Hestha. We were really lucky on the first, in the morning in Block 1, to see a huge male leopard - if only for a few minutes! We saw loads of other birds, mammals and reptiles over our time in the park, and also went on an afternoon safari in Block 5 which is well worth doing for a completely different landscape. A really great option for any safari in Yala!
We went on two safaris with Hestha and Priyan (a full-day safari in Block 1 and a half-day safari in Block 5) and both experiences were fantastic. They truly went above and beyond to help us see as many animals as possible. I highly recommend having a naturalist accompany you on safari, as they can spot wildlife you would almost certainly miss on your own. Hestha was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with great insight and enthusiasm. We also felt completely safe with Priyan driving, even on the roughest trails. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.
We did two safaris with Hestha and Priyan, a full day one in block 1 and a half day one in block 5. We had such a good time both days and they made their best to show us as many animals as possible. I would really recommend having the naturalist with you on the safari as he helps you spotting animals you wouldn’t be able to spot on your own. On top of this Hestha was very knowledgeable and was able to answer to all of our questions. We felt very safe with our driver Priyan, even on the roughest trials.
Did 2 safari's with Hestha and his drivers, evening to block 1 and morning to block 5. Communication, value and organisation was really good and everything went to plan. They clearly know the park really well and it was obvious they wanted us to have the best experience which we did!
This was the best ride of my life! Especially because of the guide Hestha!
We booked the full-day safari, which cost USD 205 for 2 people and it was 100% worth it. Our naturalist, Dilhara, was excellent. About the safari: the day starts early, coffee at 5:15 am and on the road by 5:30 with your driver and naturalist. Many safaris don’t include a naturalist sitting with you, and it makes a huge difference. He helped us spot animals quickly and explained everything along the way, which really elevated the experience. Most of the morning is focused on spotting leopards (the stars of Yala National Park). We were very lucky and managed to see two. As you’d expect, it gets a bit crowded and noisy when a leopard is spotted since everyone rushes to see it. You keep seeing wildlife until around 11:30 am, then there’s a long lunch break until 2 pm (a park requirement to protect the animals’ natural behavior). The afternoon safari is more relaxed, with elephants, birds, and other wildlife. fully disconnect, which actually suits the place pretty well. Thanks again, it was a dream came true !
Hestha was our guide and Sampath our driver, and both were excellent. Their deep knowledge of the park meant we were lucky enough to see a leopard, a rare male elephant, and plenty of other wildlife. An incredible experience from start to finish, highly recommend!
