Were picked up from the hotel early by our driver and another guy who kept watch, very cold on the way to the national park so would have needed a jacket or sweater which was a miss on my part. Our driver was a very good driver who took us around on all the driveable roads and cow trails that were in the park but you can only be in one section so you drive around on all roads that find which eventually became a bit tedious and the guys were very bad at English so you could not have a conversation or ask so much which felt sad. That it would include "an English speaking guide" as I think it says in the description is thus not so good. We saw white spotted antelopes(?), peacocks, dragons, crocodile and monkeys but no elephant until after about ten hours of riding we thought it was time to round off and go home and then saw a female almost right at the exit from the park. Since you are not allowed to get out of the vehicles in the park, you have to plan your visits to the toilet because then you have to go out to the entrance / ticket office and visit a pretty disgusting toilet without toilet paper so a good tip is to bring your own. We had booked that we wanted lunch and it was good food that felt homemade and that was taken in someone's (?) very simple garden / back at a hydropower / reservoir station, okay but maybe not so cozy right away. On the whole I would say that it felt very long to have 12-13 hours of safari, it would have been enough but a few hours in the morning or afternoon instead but it was a nice experience. I can mention that on the way from the park we met a female elephant after the road outside the park and when we went the same way the next day we saw two male elephants.

My Yala safari with Asintha's Eco Safari Tours was truly the ultimate wildlife adventure. The guides were expert naturalists who knew exactly where to find the park’s elusive animals. We saw a leopard resting in a tree, herds of elephants, and numerous bird species. The eco-friendly practices of the company made me feel responsible for supporting sustainable tourism. The vehicles were comfortable, and the entire experience was seamless. For a responsible, wildlife-rich, and memorable Yala safari, I strongly recommend Asintha's Eco Safari Tours.
Unfortunately, this half-day tour was a big disappointment. The pickup point was 45 minutes away from the entrance of the national park, which meant that around 90 minutes of potential park time were lost just driving back and forth. We came with our own car! For a half-day safari, this is unacceptable. The jeep was in poor condition: the windshield of the upper structure was missing entirely, making the long drive to and from the park extremely uncomfortable due to wind, dust, and exhaust fumes. Neither the driver nor the accompanying staff spoke a single word to us during the entire tour. On the way to the park, we had to stop twice—once for refueling and once so the staff member could buy himself a drink. We were not offered any water or refreshments, despite this being mentioned in the tour description. Inside the national park, nothing was explained at all. In fact, this would not have been possible anyway, as neither the driver nor the accompanying person spoke English. The scheduled meeting time was 1:30 PM, yet we were already being pressured via WhatsApp at 12:00 PM to come to the meeting point earlier, which felt unprofessional and intrusive. Overall, this tour felt poorly organized, uncomfortable, and far from what was promised. We expected a guided safari experience, but instead received a silent, rushed drive with significant time loss. We would not recommend this tour.
