Whale Watching & Sightseeing-Tour in Ucluelet, Vancouver Island

Caleb provides a fact-filled, fun adventure on the water with a very personal touch. While this was a whale watching expedition, he also showed us sea otters, stellar sea lions and a variety of sea birds. Investigating the local waters of Ucluelet is clearly Caleb's passion and his guests benefit! I highly recommend this company for your next ocean adventure.

Spotted the whale within half hour of our tour

The boat was quite comfortable to ride out some fairly good-sized swells. The tour guide (and boat owner) was able to find a lot of wildlife for us to view including a black bear, multiple bald eagles including one in a nest on a small island, multiple humpback whales including one that breached and several that tail lobbed., Stellar sea lions, California sea lions, harbor seals, and a sea otter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was an outstanding tour with Caleb at the helm. Caleb worked diligently to search for the whales despite some tricky weather. His persistence paid off and we were entertained by Oreo the humpback . Other sightings included sea otters, bald eagles and sea lions and we also saw a mama bear and her cubs at shore. Caleb’s knowledge of the marine life, and interesting childhood experiences in the area, made this a trip to remember. It’s a wonderful feeling to support a family business that is authentic, customer-focused and clearly passionate about what they do. Thank you Caleb!

We have no qualms about recommending either of Cameron Ocean Adventures tours to those seeking a wildlife tour when they venture to the west side of Vancouver Island, Weather on the previous day meant that we went out on the early morning Bear Tour and the afternoon Whale Watching Tour on the same day from Ucluelet. Both tours were hosted by Caleb who ensured that we had the most memorable of experiences. The "Blue Finn" took the 12 person tour group (this was the maximum group size) out to Barkley Sound where Caleb's expert eyesight was able to differentiate between shadow & Black bear, and he then positioned the boat so that everyone was able to have the best possible view from the aft deck of the boat. On this particular trip we saw five black bears in three locations, a humpback whale, a sea otter, Harbor seals, California sea lions, and bald eagles. The afternoon Whale watching tour again had a reasonably long transit to the Broken Islands, but eventually a hump back whale called "Oreo" was spotted. Caleb used his expertise to predict where Oreo would re-appear again & again after his/her dives, and he then positioned the boat in the best possible place for us. Obviously what whales choose to do and how deep they feed is outside of human control, but it was an enormously enriching experience just to watch Oreo go about his/her daily rituals. Eventually we had to turn for home, but Caleb ensured that we all had the opportunity to view a sea otter, seals, sea lions, and bald eagles on the way back to harbor. Caleb even made a detour to allow us to view a Bald Eagle nest on a wee island just outside of Ucluelet harbor. It is easy to be a little sceptical when it comes to slick marketing blurb, but Cameron Ocean Adventures lives up to it's own description of a family business with a long association with Ucluelet waters. They ovbiously love what they do and pass their passion onto their guests during the tours.

Superb afternoon on the water! Very versatile and comfortable boat; one can move to the back at will to enjoy the observed beauties or remain seated sheltered from the wind. We were fortunate to see Oreo (humpback whale) make three jumps out of the water! Wow! Additionally, we were able to observe seals (harbor seals), sea otters, sea lions, as well as cormorants and eagles. The expert piloting and information about the animals made this afternoon extremely enjoyable. I recommend without hesitation!

We went on the Bear watching tour. 2 adults and a 4 year old. Kaleb was very knowledgabke, passionate and local to the area. The tour exceeded our expectations seeing many bears in different locations plus an otter, hump back and sealions. The views were spectacular and my little boy reakky enjoyed himself. Thanks
