Unsere Kreuzfahrt ist insofern einzigartig, als wir in der vielfältigen Algoa Bay operieren, die reich an Wildtieren und Geschichte ist. Besuch der Insel St. Croix, auf der die Hälfte der weltweit noch gefährdeten afrikanischen Pinguine lebt. Diese Tour wird nur einmal am Tag durchgeführt, anstatt zu versuchen, mehrere Kreuzfahrten an einem Tag durchzuführen. Dies stellt sicher, dass unsere Skipper und Guides bei jeder Kreuzfahrt frisch und aufmerksam sind, und ermöglicht es, mehr Zeit und Mühe damit zu verbringen, in unserer Bucht nach Wildtieren zu suchen oder etwas Besonderes zu beobachten, auf das wir stoßen, vorausgesetzt, niemand an Bord hat es eilig zurück für einen Flug oder Buchungen zuvor gemacht. Unser Hauptaugenmerk liegt auf Bildung, Erhaltung und Unterstützung bei der Forschung, die durch die Mittel aus unseren Marine-Öko-Kreuzfahrten in die Algoa-Bucht ermöglicht wird. Bäume werden gepflanzt, um unseren CO2-Fußabdruck für jede durchgeführte Kreuzfahrt auszugleichen. Wir benutzen kleinere Boote, um unsere Kreuzfahrten persönlich zu halten. Unsere Skipper und Guides sind sehr kompetent und stehen zur Verfügung, um alle Fragen zu beantworten und sich um die Bedürfnisse unserer Gäste zu kümmern.

Reiseverlauf
Wir treffen unsere Gäste um 8 Uhr morgens und nach einer kurzen Einweisung, bevor wir mit unserem zweimotorigen Katamaran in die wunderschöne Algoa Bay von PE fahren. Die Walsaison beginnt im Juni, wenn wir Buckelwale sehen, die sich entlang der Küste bewegen, während sie die Ostküste Afrikas hinauf zu ihren Brutgebieten fahren. Buckelwale können von Juni bis Anfang Dezember in der Algoa Bay gesehen werden. Sie machen ihre Rückreise ab Oktober, Frauen mit Kälbern im Schlepptau. Südliche Glattwale sind von Juli bis September dicht an der Küste zu sehen.
Indopazifische Tümmler sind die am häufigsten beobachteten Delfine in der Bucht und können das ganze Jahr über in Gruppen von 10 bis 400 gesichtet werden. Diese verspielten Delfine kommen meist in seichten Gewässern in der Nähe der Strände oder rund um St. Croix Island vor und kommen in der Regel direkt zum Boot und reiten in den Bugwellen. Gewöhnliche Delfine sind ebenfalls ein spektakulärer Anblick, da sie in Gruppen von 1000 bis 2000 Personen gesehen werden, die mit großer Geschwindigkeit entlang schwimmen. Diese Delfine werden oft das ganze Jahr über weiter draußen auf dem Meer gesichtet, besonders auf den Vogelinseltouren, da sie großen Schwärmen von Köderfischen folgen, die sich an der Bucht vorbei bewegen. Wir bekommen auch Buckeldelfine in der Algoa Bay, die normalerweise in viel kleineren Gruppen zwischen 1 und 20 vorkommen und am häufigsten in den Sommermonaten gesehen werden.
Auf St. Croix Island leben 12.000 gefährdete afrikanische Pinguine, die größte Brutkolonie Afrikas (obwohl wir in 10 Jahren 70% verloren haben). Hier können Sie diese komischen Vögel hautnah erleben. Die Brutzeit des afrikanischen Pinguins erreicht zwischen März und Mai ihren Höhepunkt, wenn Sie möglicherweise die Küken vom Boot aus sehen können. Neben afrikanischen Pinguinen leben sowohl St. Croix als auch Brenton Island vom gefährdeten afrikanischen schwarzen Austernfischer, Weißbrustkormoranen und Kapkormoranen. Die St. Croix Island-Gruppe wurde zusammen mit der Bird Island-Gruppe Teil des Addo Elephant National Park, sodass Ranger die Inseln patrouillieren konnten, um die afrikanischen Pinguinpopulationen zu schützen. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie nicht zu den Inseln weiterreisen dürfen, da es sich um Meeresschutzgebiete handelt.
Neben den oben genannten Tieren haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Weißbrustkormorane, Kapkormorane, Brydewale, Zwergwale, Kappelzrobben, verschiedene Haiarten, Kaptölpel und verschiedene pelagische Vogelarten wie Seeschwalben und Sturmvögel zu beobachten , Skuas, Scherwasser und Albatrosse.

Wow, what an experience. Lloyd and the crew were wonderful. They were very professional and knowledgeable always happy to chat or answer questions. We saw a family group of Humpback Whales splashing and messing around. A raft of penguins out to sea and up on the island. Unfortunately the dolphins had another date but seals came out to play too. A truly amazing experience.

This is one of the best tours you can ever do in order to see marine life. We saw wales, dolphins, penguins and seals. The respect for the animals animals is crucial but the best part is that through this tour you are helping protect the bay and the wildlife.
