Weltweit gibt es nur acht Orte, an denen Vulkanweine hergestellt werden. Man stelle sich nur einmal die Romantik vor, die Weine umgibt, die auf Böden wachsen, die aus geschmolzener Erde und Asche entstanden sind. Vulkanböden machen zwar nur 1 Prozent der weltweiten Landfläche aus, stellen jedoch einen weitaus größeren Anteil der weltbesten Weinberge dar. Vulkanweine haben abenteuerlustige Weinliebhaber in ihren Bann gezogen, die ihren Gaumen mit etwas ganz Neuem überraschen möchten. Dies ist ein Wein aus Kleinstproduktion von den vulkanischen Azoren im Nordatlantik. Er wird auf vulkanischem Basalt auf Meereshöhe angebaut, weniger als 50 Meter vom Atlantik entfernt. Dieses Terroir und die Rebsortenmischung verleihen diesem Wein eine unglaubliche Mineralität und Reinheit sowie unverkennbare steinige Noten, Salzigkeit und einen würzigen Charakter – Mineralität und vulkanische Weine gehen Hand in Hand. In den Weinbaugebieten auf Vulkanböden entstehen einige der faszinierendsten und charaktervollsten Weine der Welt. Die Azoren – der Ort, an dem der Stein zu Wein wurde.

Besuchen Sie das Weinmuseum und das Weingut in Begleitung eines Führers. Probieren Sie die Weine dieses Erzeugers und besuchen Sie den Weinkeller. (Sonntags und montags ist das Museum geschlossen; wir besuchen dann ein anderes Weingut oder bieten eine Weinprobe auf dem Picknickplatz an.)
Vulkanisches Terroir – Begeben Sie sich auf einen Spaziergang durch die Weinberge und entdecken Sie deren einzigartige Eigenschaften. Genießen Sie die herrliche Landschaft dieses Dorfes im Norden der Insel und besuchen Sie die berühmten natürlichen Meerespools.
Genießen Sie in der entspannten Atmosphäre des Gartens einer azorischen Familie verschiedene azorische Vulkanweine (mindestens 3 Weine/eine ganze Flasche auf dem Tisch), begleitet von köstlichen Kostproben der typischen Aromen der Insel.
Lassen Sie sich von dieser Landschaft verzaubern. Schauen Sie nach dem Besuch des Aussichtspunkts kurz in diesem kleinen Ort am Strand vorbei.

Great wine tasting featuring Azorean wines and local specialties (sausages, cheese, bread, olives, and cake). A very exclusive experience, as the tasting was held just for the two of us. For a very reasonable €25, we were picked up from our accommodation and driven back afterwards. The drive itself turned into a small island tour with stunning viewpoints and plenty of great recommendations. Warm, welcoming, humorous, and delicious throughout. Absolutely recommended!
We really enjoyed the scenic wine tour, with the last stop at Victor and Helia's home base, which is set up perfectly to host outdoor parties. We learned a lot about the island, wine & food culture, and especially Terceira's tradition of Tourada à corda. Victor provided invaluable information for recommendations around the entire island for sites and restaurants. Thank you again for your hospitality!

If I could give this tour 10 stars I would.. Vítor, our tour guide was so friendly, funny and informative. We ended the tour with a delicious Portuguese feast all prepared by his lovely wife. This is an amazing couple, do not hesitate to book this tour and we can’t wait to come back!

This was a fantastic tour. Victor is a wonderful tour guide. His years of experience is evident with the level of customer service provided. After the driving tour and stops at several locations, he and Hélia took us into their home for a feast meats, cheeses, homemade jams, and dessert with a wonderful discussion of the country and its traditions. Victor has a couple different tours including a military history tour that we were able to get a little of just because of the questions we were asking. We absolutely recommend this experience.

Excellent tour with Vitor, personable and knowledgeable guide. We visited the wine museum, tasted some fortified wine, viewed the vines, stopped by the natural pool and had a tasting of three wines hosted by Vitor and his wife and accompanied by cod fish cakes, cheese plate, freshly grilled sausage, and Dona ameilda cake.
