Wir wären umgebracht worden, wenn wir vor 35 Jahren an dieser Wanderung teilgenommen hätten! Aber keine Sorge, es ist nicht mehr gefährlich. Allerdings spürt man ein wenig die Krisen in dieser geteilten Stadt. Und Sie werden wissen, dass es mehr als eine „Geschichte von zwei Städten“ ist! Es ist die Geschichte zweier unterschiedlicher Welten mitten im Kalten Krieg. Darunter Geschichten von vielen Menschen, die unter diesen Konflikten gelitten haben.

Eine verlassene Brücke auf dem Weg der Berliner Mauer.
Die Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer erinnert an die Teilung Berlins durch die Mauer und die Toten an der Berliner Mauer. Das Nationaldenkmal, ein 70 Meter langer Originalabschnitt der Grenzbefestigung, wurde 1998 von der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und dem Land Berlin an der Bernauer Straße (Mauerteile stammen aus anderen Abschnitten) wieder aufgebaut und später erweitert. Heute umfasst die Gedenkstätte auf einer Länge von 1,4 Kilometern auf dem ehemaligen Grenzstreifen auch eine Außenausstellung, die Kapelle der Versöhnung, das Dokumentationszentrum Berliner Mauer, das Fenster der Erinnerung sowie das Besucherzentrum und eine Ausstellung im benachbarten Nordbahnhof S-Bahnhof.
Ein Park, der entlang der Schwedter Straße dem Verlauf der ehemaligen Berliner Mauer folgt. Als beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet gehört der Mauerpark mit seinem Flohmarkt und zahlreichen Straßenmusikanten zu den beliebtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Berlins.

We waiting for a half an hour no one showed up then ohur ticket changed to amended what was that about we had the cost of a uber to get there at the meeting place and to get back plus the cost of the tour we did not get
This was the best walking tour we did in Berlin. Our guide was knowledgeable, approachable and polite. We learned such a lot.
Recommended. Unusual facts things you wouldn’t necessarily find yourself. Makes the visit to the wall memorial far more interesting and informative.

My son and were fortunate enough to do this tour on our own. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour probably took longer than it needed to though. Overall it was enjoyable and educational. Learned a lot about the Cold War.

This Berlin Wall History Walking Tour was one of the highlights of our trip! We wish we did it at the beginning, instead of the end of our visit to Berlin.
