We used to love this show . It’s changed . It used to have way more Brother Iz . I bragged about how much the old show incorporated his music . Tonight there was literally one song . Not even his original songs . Super bummed on that part.
I was seated at the luau dinner across from a lovely couple. I had a great conversation. I bought us Hawaiian leis for just $15 each.. The food was fantastic with the exception of the pork (which was overcooked). The Elvis impersonator and the Michael Jackson impersonator were really good. The dancers were Vegas level. The Chief’s fire show had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t believe the show was two hours because it was over before I knew it. The thing I like the most about the show was walking us through the decades and how Hawaiian music changed with American culture. It had pictures on the big screen of what was going on in the world at the time. There was great audience interaction. I think this was the highlight of my trip to Oahu.
Very entertaining! The food was delicious, and we even got to meet new friends. The luau dancers were amazing, and all the entertainers were true professionals. Everyone did such a great job! Overall, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the night. Highly recommended!
Excellent! We have done lots of luau’s but thought we would sign up and do another. This was awesome. Not traditional in anyway if that’s what you are looking for. Buffet dinner with all the usual luau offerings. Food was excellent. The traditional Hawaiian dancing was done among our tables during dinner along with ukulele music. And the traditional hula lesson. After dinner, we moved into a theater. The show is a timeline of music from 1920’s to present day. Very talented dancers. Elvis and Michael Jackson tribute performers were top notch. And of course the fire dance 👍. The performers interacted with the audience as well. We both thoroughly enjoyed this show.
We booked the luau and show combined ticket and really enjoyed the overall event. We chose this having seen very mixed reviews of the array of luaus on offer in Waikīkī. The luau. Was situated on the upper level of the Royal Hawaiian shopping centre in a large open air space outside the theatre, and so not necessarily dripping in scenic atmosphere, although away from the shopping part of the centre and anyone not attending. The food was varied and plentiful, the buffet line well managed, and the included mai tai, either with or without the alcohol, was promptly served. During this part of the event we were treated to some hula dancers amongst the tables as well as some ukulele playing which created a nice atmosphere. This was sufficient given we were attending the show afterwards but if only purchasing the luau ticket you might find the entertainment slightly lacking on a standalone basis (not aiming this at the performers who were great though, just simply in comparison to a standalone luau). The hula and ukulele team also chatted to all the guests, posed for photos etc. all in all no complaints from our family as we had a fun and pleasant experience The show. The theatre itself is on top of the shopping centre and is pretty large and impressive, with plenty of space and leg room etc. Wasn’t sure what to expect from the show as combining traditional Hawaiian dances, fire juggling and singing with Michael Jackson and Elvis tribute acts could have felt a bit odd (and we had only had the one included cocktail!) but it was fabulous. Everything blended together really well and the performers were multi talented. It felt authentic enough with regards the Hawaiian performers giving traditional performances but then those same performers also provided backing to Elvis and MJ, providing a nice Hawaiian twist on that as well. The guy doing Elvis was also a bit of a comedian and MJ had all the dance moves down too. The guy doing the fire juggling was a standout though. Seen this stuff a lot but never done at the speed he did it! You couldn’t take your eyes off him and were slightly fearful in the 3rd row! The cast also greeted the guests afterwards for chat and photos which was a nice bonus. Overall it was a great evening and we didn’t regret choosing this above some of the other options. Even the teenage kids enjoyed it!
Rock-A-Hula VIP Green Room was excellent. The director gave us a very detailed behind the scenes experience. We were the only ones in the tour so that made it even better. The luau food was good. Was a lot to eat. Even when we got up to get desserts could see there was lots of food still there. Certainly did not go hungry. The alcohol drinks didn’t taste much alcohol in them. This was a great experience. The show was awesome and certainly would recommend seeing it.
This show was Awesome Awesome and Amazing. We had a party of 7. We were celebrating my sister 60th Birthday. This was a perfect dinner and amazing Rock a Hula Lula. I would definitely recommend this show over and over again. Thank you for making our day and my sister Birthday one for the books. Everybody must see this. Worth everything.
Excellent Luau for all ages! The location was so easy to walk to from any hotel in Waikiki. The food was so fresh and delicious. The hula dancer was amazing- our hosts were so good, and we really enjoyed the theater show!
We all enjoyed the dinner and show. Staff was very friendly. The food was very good. The show was the best.
It was a great show! The Elvis and Michael Jackson impersonations were spot on! The buffet was great as well, there were so many food options to choose from. The fire dance at the end was really unique! Kudos to everyone for making this experience memorable
