This tour was super informative. We saw a couple alligators and a few birds, but it was so hot. It was so hot the alligators were in the water to cool down. We saw 2 that were on land, but it was just so hot. The boat stopped alot to get a better view and there was no air movement. Even though there was a cover on the boat, it was sunny and the shade wasnt enough. The tour guide and captain were great. It wasnt their fault that it was horrible heat. The tour times were 11 or 2. Neither would have been a good time to go out. I thought it was going to be okay because it was a covered boat, i was wrong. Check forecasts before booking if you are sensitive to heat.
Julia, thank you for joining us and for your kind words about our captain and narrator. We’re so glad you found the tour informative and were able to see some alligators and birdlife along the way. Our boat is covered and shaded for the comfort of our guests, but South Carolina summer weather can certainly be hot and humid at times. We appreciate that you recognized our crew did their best to give everyone a great experience and good opportunities to see the wildlife along the river. Thank you again for spending part of your day with us, and we truly appreciate you sharing your experience.
Lots of local history about Carolina Gold Rice, the Tupalo honer, including how the intercoastal highway was designed.
The tour was absolutely gorgeous! The staff was very knowledgeable about their surroundings and the history of South Carolina. I highly recommend that everyone should take this tour! My only suggestion would be, to have a picture taken of each group next to the boat or the landscape while on the boat. I think that would be an awesome addition to the tour!
This was a great experience! Our tour guide Agnes and Captain were both amazing, very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area, history, etc. We saw lots of wildlife, which isn’t in their control but was still a plus. I’d definitely do it again.
This entire experience was flawless from start to finish. The only bad reviews are from the dummies who missed the boat because they were late; and this excursion goes above and beyond to tell you to get there early from the description when booking it, a reminder text the morning of, and even then they were scrambling and waiting for the last minute stragglers so they try really hard to leave no man behind. There is a super cute, reasonably priced gift shop and they sell snacks and sodas along with cute merch. The guide Agnes and the captain were gems! Scenery was amazing and they kept our interest from start to finish. This is worth every penny.
This is a great outing for the family or with friends. The boat is covered and comfortable. It was nice that each family had their own row of seats and visibility was good. We were able to see osprey, a raccoon, turtles, alligators, and herons and it took about 2 hours. The owner and tour guide were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend!
Excellent experience! Learned a lot! Also their Tupelo honey is fantastic!! Well worth the trip on the water.
The trip was very fun and Agnes was absolutely phenomenal! She knows a ton, is super energetic, friendly and hilarious. We were entertained throughout, relaxed and learned a lot from the trip. Knowing this is a small family business definitely makes us want to support even more. Highly recommend and you should book directly on their website!
Great experience. Would do it again. Great narration - crew responsive to vacationers. Learned some history, scientific word for the study of birds (ornithology), spotted American alligators, a raccoon, lots of turtles, different birds and specific nests. Bought the rice and the honey (and it did not flux my blood glucose). Developed a respect for the heritage for the area. Good job guys!
Great crew. We were able to see plenty of wildlife and learn about the local history.
