Damit diese Tour für Sie angenehm, unterhaltsam und entspannend wird, haben wir uns dafür entschieden, mit dem Auto oder Kleinbus nach Porto zu fahren, wobei wir auf dem Weg von Lissabon nach Porto vier Zwischenstopps einlegen: 09:00 Uhr – Abfahrt von Lissabon in Richtung des Dorfes Óbidos. 10:00 Uhr – Zwischenstopp in Óbidos für eine Besichtigung. 11:00 Uhr – Abfahrt von Óbidos in Richtung Fátima. 12:30 Uhr – Zwischenstopp in der Stadt Fátima zum Mittagessen und für einen religiösen Besuch. 15:00 Uhr – Abfahrt von Fátima in Richtung Aveiro. 16:00 Uhr – Zwischenstopp in der Stadt Aveiro für eine Besichtigung. 17:00 Uhr – Abfahrt von Aveiro in Richtung Porto. 18:00 Uhr – Ankunft in Porto; hier endet unser Service an Ihrem Hotel.

Abholung im Hotel und Fahrt nach Óbidos.
Haltestelle: Freizeit Óbidos ist eine bezaubernde mittelalterliche Stadt in Zentralportugal, bekannt für ihre gut erhaltenen Stadtmauern, gepflasterten Gassen und weiß getünchten Häuser, die mit bunten Blumen geschmückt sind. Einst war es im Jahr 1210 ein Hochzeitsgeschenk an Königin Urraca; daraufhin wurde es als „Stadt der Königinnen“ bekannt und blieb über Jahrhunderte hinweg Teil der königlichen Mitgift. Besucher können durch die engen Gassen schlendern, das historische Schloss, das zu einem Gasthaus umgebaut wurde, erkunden und lokale Spezialitäten wie den berühmten Ginjinha de Óbidos genießen – einen Kirschlikör, der oft in einer Schokoladentasse serviert wird. Die Stadt ist zudem Schauplatz beliebter Veranstaltungen wie des Internationalen Schokoladenfestivals und des Literaturfestivals von Óbidos, was ihr den Ruf als kulturelles Juwel eingebracht hat.
Reise nach Nazaré.
Halt: Freizeit. Nazaré ist eine malerische Küstenstadt in Zentralportugal, die weltweit für ihre rekordverdächtigen Wellen und ihre tief verwurzelten Fischertraditionen bekannt ist. Es liegt direkt am Atlantik und gliedert sich in drei Hauptbereiche: die Strandstadt (Praia), das Dorf auf den Klippen (Sítio) und das Viertel im Landesinneren (Pederneira). Die Stadt erlangte internationale Bekanntheit dank der riesigen Wellen am Praia do Norte, wo Surfer aus aller Welt – wie Garrett McNamara – Wellen von über 30 Metern Höhe geritten haben. Doch abgesehen vom Surfen bietet Nazaré ein reichhaltiges kulturelles Erlebnis: traditionelle Fischerboote, Frauen in siebenlagigen Röcken und die Wallfahrtskirche „Nossa Senhora de Nazaré“, ein Wallfahrtsort mit jahrhundertelanger Tradition. Hier verschmelzen Naturschönheiten mit kulturellem Erbe – ein Muss für Abenteuerlustige und Geschichtsinteressierte gleichermaßen.

Halt: Freizeit. Aveiro wird wegen seiner malerischen Kanäle und der bunten Moliceiro-Boote, die durch die Stadt gleiten, oft als das „Venedig Portugals“ bezeichnet. Die an der Atlantikküste gelegene Stadt ist ein pulsierender Ort, der für seine Jugendstilarchitektur, seine Salinen und die süße Leckerei „Ovos Moles“ bekannt ist – eine lokale Spezialität aus Eigelb und Zucker. Historisch gesehen entwickelte sich Aveiro rund um seine Lagune, die Ria de Aveiro, die seit jeher die Fischerei und die Salzgewinnung ermöglicht hat. Heute ist sie zudem eine Universitätsstadt mit jugendlicher Energie und einem wachsenden Ruf für Innovation und Nachhaltigkeit. Jose was amazing! He picked us up from Lisbon to take us to Porto. My mom had purchased and accidentally broken a piece of pottery the day before in Alfama, the highest neighborhood in Lisbon. She asked if Jose would take us there before we started our drive so she could buy a new piece. He was very kind and accommodating. His English is excellent, and we enjoyed talking to him! We chose two stops during the day, and he gave us excellent directions about what we should see and how to find him when we were finished. Even though the tour was technically booked for a set number of hours, he was very flexible with time and urged us not to hurry. At each of our two stops, he walked with us into a shop and got us samples of traditional Portuguese snacks, which we greatly enjoyed. Jose said he isn't a history expert, but he sure knew and was willing to share a lot! We plan to recommend Jose to other traveler friends of ours, and if we return to Portugal, we'll be calling him. We had a lovely, full day from Lisbon to Porto with Ricardo. He met us at our hotel and was on time as scheduled. Despite us needing a few minutes to get our things together, Ricardo was very patient. We set off on our trip, and Ricardo gave us some options for places we could stop along the way. Although we thought we had an idea, his suggestions and descriptions helped us make a more informed decision. We stopped at Obidos and Aveiro. Ricardo is a Portugal native and was very knowledge and informative. The van was very clean and comfortable. He was so nice and knew many special restaurants and stores off the beaten path for us to visit. He also snapped a bunch of candid photos of our family and sent them to me at the end of the day. He was truly so thoughtful and kind. We really enjoyed our day with Ricardo!

Best decision we made for our trip to Portugal was taking this shuttle from Lisbon to Porto with the three stops. Joe told us so much history and had a great soundtrack for the ride. The van was also comfortable where we were able to nap in between stops. Worth the extra vacation funds to see so much in one day with an expert, at your own schedule, with bathroom stops as needed. His drink and food recommendations en route were fabulous and gave us tips for Porto too.

My wife Christina and I spent a day touring with Miguel on our way from Lisbon to Porto, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Miguel was friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to spend the day with. He took us through Óbidos, Nazaré, and Fátima, sharing local history and showing us places and viewpoints we likely would have never found on our own. We almost didn’t book the trip because of the price tag when compared to just taking a train from Lisbon to Porto. It’s worth it for the private driver and the opportunity to see these towns. Above all what we appreciated most was that the day never felt rushed. Miguel was very relaxed and adjusted the experience to our interests. It felt less like a guided tour and more like spending the day with a local friend that wanted to show you some of the hot spots! This was one of our favorite days in Portugal. We were looking for transportation between Lisbon and Porto and considered just a regular transfer, train and flight. Then we stumbled upon this option and it was so good that I think we’re going to be doing this every time we’re moving between cities on vacation.
