Von Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt : Cu-Chi-Tunnel und Mekong-Delta 1 Tag

Beschreibung

The guide (Peter) was very qualified and ontime as well. Driver was expert
We had an amazing experience at the CuChi tunnels and Mekong Delta tour. This was largely down to our tour guide Linda (Huong) , who was super knowledgeable and really explained everything thoroughly. We have learned so much from her. She was really funny , which made the experience more enjoyable and memorable. Her English was brilliant and we would love to come back and do more tours with her. The day itself lasted almost 12 hours and we fit in quite a lot. We travelled with our 2 teenage children, who said it was the best experience in the South. We started off at a laquer art factory, where we met some of the artists who had been victims of the Agent orange. This is a govt initiative to help them work. Then we moved on to the Cu Chi tunnels, where we learned about the history of the tunnels, we got to experience walking through tunnels too. Not good for people who are claustrophobic! We then travelled 2 hours to Mekong, where we visited 2 islands. Lunch was provided and we ate traditional Vietnamese food, which was delicious. There was a good variety and very plentiful - we could not finish it all. We got to see the manufacture of coconut candy. This was very tasty and contained no sugar. We finished the tour with a rowing boat experience on unicorn island. Highly recommend this and if you can get Linda as your tour guide- even better.
Linda was an excellent and expert guide who shared a great deal of historical knowledge and personal history to relate to both the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta. She was never pushy about spending money or tipping any of the spots we visited, and actually gave good advice about how much to tip (it was a lot less than I might have tipped without guidance). She taught me some Vietnamese words as well. She has about 20 years of experience as a guide and her English is highly fluent and easy to understand. Our ride with the driver Diep was very smooth and comfortable. It was a memorable and comforting trip.
Fantastic day, looked after beautifully by our guide, Leo. We were picked up from our hotel, small group (two couples), in an air-conditioned minibus. We were taken to the Cu Chi tunnels via a lacquer painting factory. The tunnels were so interesting, although busy (and this was low season!). Leo took us around, and with the noise of the AK rifle range, gave it an authentic feel of what life would have been like for the Vietnamese soldiers. After the tunnels, we headed down to the Mekong Delta, although a long journey, it was a brilliant afternoon: tasty fresh local food for lunch and guided a round lovely local farms where we tasted a variety of foods, including unusual fruits, local honey, tea and coconut in so many forms, including sweets. We also met a pet python who wanted a cuddle! Each stop was well coordinated with different modes of transport, including a kayak ride through the coconut forest, which all made the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day! Thank you, Leo!
Great tour. Very knowledgeable guide
