Wenn Sie sich also entscheiden, andere aserbaidschanische Städte zu besuchen, empfehlen wir Ihnen dringend, Quba zu besichtigen! Guba wurde im 15. Jahrhundert gegründet und liegt 165 km nördlich von Baku. Das Dorf Khinaliq ist das abgelegenste Dorf unter allen anderen in Quba. Es ist auch das höchstgelegene Dorf, da es inmitten der kaukasischen Berge liegt. Und genau diese Abgeschiedenheit hat den Bewohnern des Dorfes geholfen, die Invasionen zu überstehen. Die Geschichte dieses Dorfes reicht bis in die albanische Zeit zurück. In diesem Gebiet zwischen den Bergen sind noch Überreste antiker Höhlen der frühen Menschen vorhanden. Aufgrund seiner langen Geschichte gilt das Dorf Khinaliq als einer der ältesten bewohnten Orte der Welt und wurde in die UNESCO-Liste der historischen Weltdenkmäler aufgenommen.

Einer der schönsten Straßenabschnitte Aserbaidschans führt etwa 40 Kilometer von der Autobahn Guba-Baku nach Westen in Richtung des Bergdorfes Altiaghaj. Ungefähr auf halber Strecke zwischen den beiden durchquert man ein dramatisches Tal, das von sanften Schieferbergen flankiert wird, deren erstaunliche rote, orange, rosa und kreidefarbene Wirbel den britischen Reiseschriftsteller Mark Elliott (Autor des sehr beliebten Reiseführers „Aserbaidschan“) dazu veranlassten, sie zu nennen die Candy Cane Mountains, ein Name, der den Reisenden seitdem in Erinnerung geblieben ist.
Etwas mehr als eine Autostunde nordwestlich von Baku entlang der Guba-Autobahn befindet sich ein 382 Meter hoher Berg, dessen bizarre Form vor langer Zeit dazu geführt hat, dass er Berg Beshbarmag genannt wurde, was auf Aserbaidschanisch „Fünf-Finger-Berg“ bedeutet. Der Legende nach wagte sich irgendwann in der Antike ein Prophet namens Khidr auf der Suche nach einem „Trank des Lebens“ hierher und erlangte Unsterblichkeit, nachdem er aus einer Quelle auf dem Gipfel getrunken hatte. Heute ist der Berg voller Geheimnisse und die Einheimischen kommen hierher, um um Kraft und Glück zu beten.
Qechresh ist eines der größten Dörfer in der Guba-Region. Das Gebiet ist von allen Seiten mit Wald bedeckt. Qechresh ist berühmt für seine natürlichen Quellen und Pflanzen.
Qriz Bridge. Zwischen steilen Klippen aufgehängt und von dramatischen Landschaften umgeben, ist dieser Ort einer der malerischsten in der Region. Die Brücke bietet eine perfekte Kulisse für unvergessliche Fotos und ist somit ein beliebter Halt für Reisende und Fotografen gleichermaßen
Wenn Sie weiter vom Gechresh-Wald entfernt sind, befinden Sie sich in den Gudyalchay-Schluchten: Steile Auf- und Abstiege der Straße führen durch die steilen Wände der Schlucht. Die Straße, die durch zwei Berge führt, steile Klippen und wunderschöne Wälder machen den Anblick dieses Dorfes reizvoll.
Auf dem Weg zum Dorf Khinaliq machen wir einen Halt am atemberaubenden Aussichtspunkt Eagle Top. Dieses natürliche Wahrzeichen hoch in den Bergen bietet einen Panoramablick auf tiefe Täler und kurvenreiche Straßen. Benannt ist der Ort nach seiner adlerförmigen Felsformation und dem häufigen Anblick wilder Adler, die am Himmel schweben. Wir machen hier Halt, um schöne Fotos von den atemberaubenden Berglandschaften zu machen und die frische Kaukasusluft zu genießen.
Wir starten gegen 8 Uhr morgens. Der Weg nach Guba Khinaliq und zurück nach Baku beträgt insgesamt ca. 8 Stunden.
Khinalig ist ein altes kaukasisches Dorf aus der kaukasischen albanischen Zeit. Es liegt nördlich von Guba, inmitten der Berge des Großkaukasus, die Russland und den Südkaukasus trennen, auf einer Höhe von 2100 - 2200 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel über dem Fluss Kudialchay. Berühmt für seine Sprache, eigentümliche Bräuche und Traditionen. Heute leben etwa zweitausend Menschen in Khinalig. Fast die gesamte Bevölkerung ist indigen. In Khinalig behalten ihre Sprache für mehr als 4000 Jahre.

Abholorte & -zeiten
Die Tour beginnt um ca. 8 :00 Uhr in der Nähe des Parkhauses neben der Altstadt (Icherisheher). Wir bieten auch Abholung von zentralen Hotels in Baku an, mit Ausnahme von Hotels in der Nizami-Straße (Shopping) oder innerhalb der Altstadt. In diesen Fällen werden die Gäste gebeten, zum vorgesehenen Treffpunkt zu kommen. Die Abholung beginnt in der Regel 30–40 Minuten vor der Abfahrt. Die genaue Abhol- oder Besprechungszeit wird einen Tag vor dem Tourtermin per WhatsApp oder E-Mail gesendet.

I really appreciate when the homeowner at Khinaliq village where we have our lunch allowed me to perform my prayer at her house. Ruslan is an excellent guide who provided us with comprehensive information about the places we visited, he’s also a very responsible driver, the whole drive from Baku to Khinalig was very smooth, without excessive speed and we felt safe on all the sections of the road. The highlight of the tour was the village of Khinalig which is very special and authentic. We also had a nice lunch there included in the tour program. There was also a friendly dog who accompanied us as we hiked through the village. Overall, we definitely recommend this tour and Ruslan as a guide.

I enjoyed the trip to Xinalyk with Leyla, the tour guide. Everything was so organised. They picked me up from the hotel. During the trip, Leyla took photos and video for us. The views of landscapes and mountains was stunning. In the highest village we had delisious lunch. If you travel to Baku, please visit Khinalig. This place definitely deserves your time.

The tour is very interesting but unfortunately the weather wasn't good, a heavy snow started when we got Khinalug, the way to go up was completely white but with care the cars got the village, but it was very difficult on the way back, both cars had serious problems to driving through the snowed road and they both slippered on the road, one of them had no chains and the other one even with chains was difficult to manage. The drivers asked to walked down so many meters, about 20 or 30minuts trought the snow, we were really afraid as was getting dark and the way down were 2h driving on that terrible road. The forecast was that snow was coming theses days, it was not unexpected, no plan b at all to get down, the tour should be cancel on these conditions. Leyla, our guide was very kind, helpful and very professional all the time. Thanks Leyla! she explained all history and details.

We would like to clarify an important point: weather conditions in mountainous regions such as Khinalug are unpredictable and are not something a tour operator can control. Snowfall in winter is absolutely normal for this area and cannot be considered a failure of the tour organization. Also the statement that guests had to walk 20–30 minutes is not accurate. The walking distance was approximately 5–10 minutes only, and it was requested strictly for safety reasons. This section of the road has a very steep slope and was the most snow-covered part of the entire route. We did not want to take any unnecessary risks with vehicles on that specific stretch. It is important to note that this was the only section where guests were asked to walk. All other parts of the route were passed without difficulty by the vehicles, and there were no issues elsewhere. Our main priority is always the safety of our guests. Despite the difficult weather conditions, our drivers managed the situation professionally and ensured that everyone returned safely. The decision to walk part of the way was taken purely for safety reasons, which is always more important than comfort or speed. We do not operate tours when we know in advance that conditions are impossible or roads are closed. In this case, the road was open, and the situation changed during the tour — something that can happen in mountain areas anywhere in the world. We also kindly remind that guests are free to check the weather forecast themselves and decide whether they feel comfortable joining a mountain tour, especially in winter. Lowering the rating solely due to weather conditions is therefore unfair, as this is beyond the control of the guide, drivers, or company.
