Die berühmte Große Pyramide von Khufu ist mit Abstand die größte, höchste und intakteste Pyramide Ägyptens. Nach seiner Errichtung wurde es zu einem der „Sieben Weltwunder der Antike“ und ist heute das einzige von ihnen, das noch erhalten ist. 4300 Jahre lang war die Pyramide auch das höchste Gebäude der Erde, bis die Franzosen 1889 den Eiffelturm errichteten. Die Pyramide von Khufu ist vollständig aus Kalkstein gebaut und gilt als architektonisches Meisterwerk. Es enthält rund 1.300.000 Blöcke mit einem Gewicht von 2,5 Tonnen bis 15 Tonnen. Seine quadratische Basis umfasst 13 Hektar und seine Seiten misst etwa 230 m (755ft). Seine vier Seiten sind den vier Himmelspunkten genau zugewandt und er hat einen Winkel von 52 Grad
Khafres Pyramide, oder die 2. Pyramide, ist leicht an den Schichten ihrer ursprünglichen Hüllsteine zu erkennen, die noch in der Nähe ihres Gipfels erhalten sind und dies, zusammen mit der Tatsache, dass sie tatsächlich auf einem höheren Teil des Plateaus steht, den Eindruck vermittelt, dass sie höher als die Große Pyramide ist. Eine optische Täuschung, da sie nur 136 m hoch ist, mit Seiten von 214,5 m, einer Fläche von 11 Morgen und einem Winkel von 53 Grad. Er hat im Laufe der Jahre auch etwas von seiner ursprünglichen Höhe verloren und war einst 143,5 m hoch.
Khafres Sohn Menkaure baute die kleinste der drei Hauptpyramiden auf dem Gizeh-Plateau. Dieser war nur 65,5 m groß, heute 62 m, mit Seiten von 105 m und einem Winkel von 51,3 Grad. Es wird angenommen, dass diese Pyramide während ihres Baus verändert und um einiges größer gemacht wurde, als ursprünglich geplant. Die ursprüngliche, kleinere Pyramide hatte einen einfachen abfallenden Korridor und eine Grabkammer, aber als sie vergrößert wurde, wurde ein neuer Korridor mit 3 Portkullis und einer kleinen getäfelten Kammer gebaut. Später wurde noch eine weitere Grabkammer sowie ein Lagerraum auf einem niedrigeren Niveau hinzugefügt. Diese Pyramide hat, wie ihre 2 Nachbarn, eine Nordseite zum Eingang.
Die Große Sphinx, oder wie die Alten sie kannten, „Schaf Ankh“ oder „das lebendige Bild“, muss eine der erkennbarsten Konstruktionen der Geschichte sein. Denken Sie an die Sphinx und Sie denken automatisch an Ägypten und die Hochebene von Gizeh. Aus weichem Sandstein geschnitzt, glauben viele, dass er längst verschwunden wäre, wenn er nicht so lange in seinem Leben im Sand begraben gewesen wäre. Der Körper ist 60m lang und 20m hoch. Sein Gesicht ist 4m breit und die Augen 2m hoch. Es steht der aufgehenden Sonne gegenüber und wurde von den Alten so sehr verehrt, dass sie einen Tempel davor errichteten.

Excellent tour, Maged and Ahmed were great and extremely helpful. Would book with them again and wholly recommend specifically for tourists who don't speak Arabic. They are very accommodating to our requests like we did or didn't need certain stops and helpful to the vegetarians with us.

- Everything felt scammy, with pushy upselling and constant pressure to agree to additional overpriced add-ons. - The tour offers an early 6 am start, but as soon as I had paid and reached the 24-hour non-cancellation period, the guide tried to change my start time without approval. - I was charged an additional $375. When I asked why, I was told to "reach out to Viator." I politely asked him to fix his own mistake. He was able to reverse the $375 charge, but then I was hit with another $125 charge for “rebooking” the tour. So a $125 tour that I never took ended up costing me $250. I still have not received a refund. - I asked to cancel, but he refused. I was then harassed with 50+ WhatsApp messages and nonstop calls. - He never showed up to give the tour, and I had to find another tour operator on the day of. - I expect his response to this review to claim none of this happened and that I'm somehow at fault. Judge for yourself. I have asked repeatedly for a refund for a service that was never delivered and have received nothing. If you want to roll the dice with this guide, go for it. Just know that you are rolling the dice, and you might lose.
