Dieser gemeinsame VIP-Landausflug nach Rom bietet eine Abholung und Rückgabe am Hafen, einen professionellen englischsprachigen Fahrer und maximal 8 Passagiere. Nach einer 80-minütigen Fahrt vom Pier beginnen Sie Ihre Tour durch die Ewige Stadt.
Zweitausend Jahre faszinierender Geschichte werden im Kolosseum lebendig, der antiken römischen Arena, in der die Gladiatorenkämpfe stattfanden. Das Kolosseum ist eine erstaunliche technische Meisterleistung und ein Zeugnis der genialen Ingenieurskunst des antiken Roms.
Der Konstantinsbogen ist einer von mehreren Triumphbögen des antiken Roms und steht auf dem Platz direkt vor dem Kolosseum. Seine Lage war in der Antike bedeutend und verband den Bereich des Forum Romanum mit den wichtigsten Unterhaltungs- und öffentlichen Badekomplexen im Zentrum Roms.
Der Circus Maximus war das größte Stadion im alten Rom, berühmt für Wagenrennen (erinnern Sie sich an den Film „Ben Hur“?). Als langgestreckte, elliptische Bahn mit einer zentralen Insel bot der Circus Maximus Platz für 250.000 Menschen, ein Viertel der Bevölkerung Roms im Altertum mal.
Archäologische Funde zeigen, dass der Palatin bereits im 10. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bewohnt war, aber seine glorreichen Tage waren zur Zeit des Römischen Reiches, als dies im Grunde das Beverly Hills von Rom war. Der römische Adel hatte hier seine Heimat, darunter auch der Kaiser, der von seinem Palast aus die Wagenrennen beobachten konnte.
Der Kapitolinische Hügel ist der kleinste und wichtigste der sieben Hügel des antiken Roms. Als politisches und religiöses Herz Roms wurde der Kapitolinische Hügel zu einem Symbol für Roms Herrschaft als Caput Mundi, Hauptstadt der Welt. Heute können wir die elegante Piazza schätzen, die von Michelangelo während der Renaissance entworfen wurde. Von der Rückseite des Hügels können Sie einen unglaublichen Blick auf das Forum Romanum genießen.
Offiziell als Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II. Bekannt, wurde das gewaltige Monument aus weißem Marmor, das die Piazza Venezia dominiert, als Tribut an den ersten König eines vereinten Italiens, Victor Emmanuel II, errichtet.
Vor mehr als 1800 Jahren erbaut, steht das prächtige Pantheon noch heute als Erinnerung an das große Römische Reich. Der Name Pantheon bezieht sich auf die ursprüngliche Funktion des Gebäudes als Tempel für alle Götter. Das Bauwerk ist berühmt für seine hübsche Kassettenkuppel, ein erstaunliches und mystifizierendes Werk der Architektur und Ingenieurskunst, mit einem gigantischen Oculus im Zentrum. HINWEIS: Die Besichtigung des Pantheons von außen ist kostenlos. Ab Juli 2023 ist ein Ticket für den Besuch des Innenraums erforderlich. Das Ticket kostet 10 Euro pro Person. Wenn Sie das Pantheon betreten möchten, bitten wir Sie, eine Reservierung für Sie vorzunehmen.
Ob Sie es glauben oder nicht, der Trevi-Brunnen wird immer noch von einem alten Aquädukt gespeist – dem Aqua Virgo, das 19 v. Der kunstvolle Barockbrunnen von Bernini, ein Meisterwerk mythischer Figuren aus Travertin, ist der bekannteste Brunnen der Welt.
Der Petersdom befindet sich auf der anderen Seite des Tibers gegenüber dem historischen Zentrum von Rom. Der Ort hat eine hohe Symbolkraft; Hier starb der heilige Petrus als Märtyrer und wurde 64 n. Chr. begraben. Die massive Kirche mit ihrer wunderschönen, von Michelangelo entworfenen Kuppel beherbergt viele Kunstwerke, darunter Michelangelos berühmteste Pietà. An dieser Haltestelle haben Sie Zeit, die Kirche und die Piazza von außen zu betrachten. Wir werden die Basilika nicht betreten.
Der grüne Janiculum-Hügel ist übersät mit Denkmälern für Garibaldi und seine provisorische Armee, die 1849 an dieser Stelle im Kampf um die italienische Einigung erbitterte Kämpfe ausfochten. Der italienische Held wird mit einem massiven Denkmal auf der Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi erinnert, während er in Brasilien geboren wurde Frau Anita hat ihr eigenes Denkmal etwa 200 m entfernt auf der Piazzale Anita Garibaldi. Anita starb zusammen mit ihrem ungeborenen Kind kurz nach der Belagerung an Malaria.

With Rome’s distance from the port, this small group tour is the way to go! We really enjoyed our day with Federico! He was an excellent driver, showing us “alternate routes” (hee-hee) to many places. He was very knowledgeable about all the sites and Rome’s history without overwhelming us with too many facts and details. His recommendation for lunch was fabulous! We highly recommend taking this tour; we are definitely glad we did!

Experience could have been better. Our driver/guide did not offer any history information and/or didn’t communicate about a location/site until we were practically past it. Didn’t realize we missed a few things around the coliseum until we had left because he wasn’t forthcoming with information. Where he took us for lunch was amazing. Then we were only supposed to be at St. Paul’s cathedral for an hour, he said 2 hours. We didn’t want to wait 2 hours as we just wanted a pic outside, had no interest in going in, but the other group with us did. So, we took and paid for a taxi to take us back to port. Next time we do a tour like this, we will do it with just our group. We spent more time today waiting for the other people in our van than we were at some sites. For what we paid, should have been more accommodating for both groups. This was supposed to be a highlights tour, not a detailed tour of sites.

For this reason, the route, stops, and timing cannot be customized according to one individual traveler’s preferences. As described in the service details, our English-speaking driver provides live commentary onboard during transit between stops. While the driver is not a licensed walking guide and therefore cannot accompany guests on foot at each site, they do provide clear instructions and orientation before guests explore independently. Regarding the stop at St. Peter’s Basilica, the timing at each location may vary slightly depending on traffic, group pace, and operational conditions on the day. Since this was a shared experience, the schedule also needed to accommodate the interests of all participants in the vehicle. We understand that shared tours may not be ideal for travelers seeking a more personalized pace or the flexibility to skip certain stops. In that case, a private tour would indeed be the more suitable option, as it allows full customization of the itinerary and timing based solely on your group’s preferences. Great day with Ricardo. He made sure we got to see all of the highlights. Due to passenger van we could get so much closer than in a bus so less walking to the sites. He was knowledgeable and entertaining.

Excellent experience with Riccardo has our driver. He was prompt meeting us at the cruise port and assisted us with our luggage. He gave thought and added special stops to our day in Rome. We were able to experience a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant thanks to his recommendation.
