We did an afternoon Half-Day Whale Watching Semi-Covered Boat tour. It was amazing! The boat options were great- lots of space to be indoors watching and warming up or outside wind in the hair searching for wildlife. The boat was clean and the bathrooms were good. The guides were very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We had Derek, Lili and Caio and they made sure everyone stayed safe but had a good place to view and lots of stories and facts about what we were seeing. We were lucky enough to see 2 families of orcas and 2 single humongous males. Somehow our captain Rod was always in the PERFECT place to see them when they surfaced. Seeing orcas was on my bucket list and Eagle Wing made it come true! At the end of the tour the guides showed us how they identified the whales we saw and gave some more information about the individuals. I loved it all plus they’re a Canadian family owned business!
Thank you! What a way to check orcas off your bucket list out on the Salish Sea! We're so glad our captain kept finding those perfect spots and that the guides shared how they identify each whale. We're so lucky to have such an incredible and passionate team. It means a lot to have your support for our Canadian family-owned business, and we'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
We travelled with our 6 and 9 year old granddaughters. Staff answered their questions and were super kind.
Thank you!! We're so glad you had such a great experience with your granddaughters, these are the memories that last a lifetime. Thanks again for the kind words! All the best, Tianda
We have a great time! I am so thankful they took extra time for us to go a bit further and see the Orcas. We had a great crew, and was very thankful for the chance to be under the cover for some of it - I even used a toque and I thought we came well prepared for cold wind!
Thank you! We're so glad the crew went the extra distance to see those orcas, it's always worth it out on the Salish Sea! Sounds like you came well prepared for the wind, and the cover is such a nice option on a chilly day. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
Was a fun day. It was a little cold but we expected that. Very nice clear day and we saw a lot of whales. Went to two different spots and the captain worked hard to get to two areas with one being quite far. Great tour.
Thank you for the kind words!! Our captains always work hard to get guests the best possible views, even when it means covering some distance! We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
It was easy to book our trip on TripAdvisor. The boat left right on time. Our crew of Captain Ron, Derek, Carol, and Jo were great. We saw many, many whales. We saw a small pod of orcas from a distance, and then on our way back we encountered a large group of humpback whales that were all feeding. Everywhere you looked, you could see a whale coming out of the water to feed, a spout of water being blown by a whale, or a whale tail as the whale dove back into the water. It was magnificent. Our crew was very knowledgeable and personable. We had a great time!
Thank you! What a magnificent day on the Salish Sea! That feeding behaviour is always a thrill to witness, and we're so glad our crew made the day knowledgeable and fun. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
Absolutely amazing. Staff were great, we saw 50+ whales. Couldn’t believe it. Would do it again, a thousand times over
Thank you! What an amazing day indeed! It's always a privilege to share the Salish Sea with guests like you. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
We went on a half day semi covered tour from Victoria and had the BEST time. The number of whales we saw and how close they got to the boat totally exceeded our expectations. We also saw a bald eagle, seals and sea lions. Lili, Tilly and Laura were brilliant hosts and made sure everyone made room for one another, it never felt too crowded on board and we learned lots of cool whale facts. Loved it!
Thank you! Nothing makes us happier than hearing you had the BEST time! We're so glad our team kept everything comfortable and shared plenty of cool whale facts along the way. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
Great day on the water. Humpbacks were sighted and enjoyed. What a privilege! Guides gave great information about local population as well as overall general wildlife information. Would definitely recommend and I would go again
Thank you! It truly is a privilege to share the water with humpbacks, and we're so glad you enjoyed the day out on the Salish Sea! Our guides love passing along what they know about the local population and the wildlife that calls these waters home. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
This tour exceeded our expectations! We chose the semi covered boat sunset tour. It was a cool day with a little bit of rain so being able to take a break from the wind and spray was great. We were with a small child and some older folks and they appreciated the shelter. Captain Rod, Jo, Derek, Keaton and Clint were very professional. They provided a safety briefing, answered any questions anyone had and gave us so much information on what we saw. We followed the thorough instructions they provided on how to dress and they also provided additional jackets and hats in case anyone needed them. Even though it was the end of June it was VERY cool out on the water. While the tour guides can't control what wildlife is around that day, they certainly found us a show. We saw so many Biggs Killer Whales almost right away. Then I heard the Captain radio that we were on to bigger things and a few minutes later we were surrounded by Humpback Whales. The tour was very respectful of the distance that they are required to keep from the whales but the whales decided they were curious that day and we saw some come quite close to the boat. We also got to see some Harbour Seals and Steller Sea Lions. It was incredible.
Thank you! What a day on the Salish Sea! When the engines are cut and curious whales decide to approach on their own terms, it's a moment none of us ever take for granted. We're so glad the semi-covered boat kept everyone comfortable and that our crew took great care of you. We'd love to welcome you aboard again. All the best, Tianda
I stayed at Victoria Falls backpacker Lodge for a few days. It’s a real artsy type place that is beautifully decorated. They have individual rooms with anoutdoor kitchen area as well. Blessing, who is the manager, was extremely helpful with local attractions, travelling within Zimbabwe/Zambia. Great place to relax and unwind complete with swimming pool.
