Wir bieten eine zutiefst persönliche Erkundung der Geschichte durch berührende Geschichten sowie Einblicke in die lebendige zeitgenössische Kultur Budapests, einschließlich seines berühmten Nachtlebens und der urbanen Kunstszene. Unsere Touren zeichnen sich nicht nur durch die reiche historische Bedeutung des jüdischen Viertels aus, sondern auch durch ihre Betonung auf die Entdeckung versteckter Symbole und weniger bekannter Erzählungen, die ein umfassendes Verständnis jenseits typischer touristischer Erlebnisse vermitteln. Dies ist eine Gruppentour und erfordert mindestens 4 Teilnehmer. Sollte die Mindestanzahl nicht erreicht werden, erhalten Sie die volle Rückerstattung. Wir treffen und begrüßen Sie am Elisabethplatz (Erzsébet tér auf Ungarisch), wo unser voll lizenzierter lokaler Reiseleiter auf unsere Reisenden wartet. Wir skizzieren die Route und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten entlang des Weges, einschließlich der größten Synagoge Europas, und erzählen Ihnen etwas über die Juden Ungarns. Wir werden uns auf die Belle Epoque oder das Goldene Zeitalter bis zur Zerstörung konzentrieren.
Hier sprechen wir über "Gaudiopolis", die Stadt der Freude in Latein und Schutzpass, die Tausende von jüdischen Leben gerettet hat. Wir zeigen Ihnen auch die Ruinen der ehemaligen mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer, die Juden vom Handel innerhalb der Stadtgrenzen ausschloss.

Sie erfahren mehr über die wunderschön restaurierte Synagoge in der Rumbachstraße und die wunderschönen Wandgemälde und andere Stücke urbaner Straßenkunst. Wir betreten die Synagoge nicht.
Wir passieren die Gozsdu-Passage und erfahren etwas über ihre Vergangenheit und Gegenwart. Diese Passage vereint Unterhaltung, Gastronomie und Kultur, Markt und vieles mehr. Sie werden auch das letzte Stück der Ghettomauer sehen.
Wir halten direkt vor der Synagoge in der Kazinczy-Straße, die der orthodoxen Gemeinschaft von 50-60 Familien gehört. Wir sprechen auch über das koschere Essen, das jüdische Ritualbad und vieles mehr. Wir betreten die Synagoge nicht.
Wir zeigen Ihnen weitere Wandmalereien und urbane Straßenkunst und bringen Sie zur Szimpla Ruin Bar, wo Sie Pop-up-Ausstellungen sehen und Ihnen eine letzte Orientierung geben können.

This was not a super long tour in terms of walking because we mostly were focused on a small area. The tour guide, Gary, was very nice and knowledgeable. I wish there could have been more exploration on how the wave of antisemitism in Hungary started because that part of the review was kind of quick. He also gave us several recommendations for places to visit.

Our Jewish heritage tour in Budapest was one of the highlights in such a great city. The guide KRISTINA was extremely knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the history, culture, and resilience of Budapest’s Jewish community. Visiting the stunning Dohány Street Synagogue, the Jewish Quarter, and a few Holocaust memorial sites gave us a much deeper understanding of the city’s past and present. It does not include the shoes on the river which is a must. Did not include any admissions to the three synagogues. Tour was about 2 Hours. The pace was comfortable, and our guide was happy to answer questions and share personal stories that brought the history to life. We appreciated how the tour balanced historical facts with cultural experiences. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Budapest, whether you have a Jewish background or simply want to learn more about this important part of the city’s history.

Regarding the Shoes on the Danube Memorial: it's actually included in our general sightseeing tour rather than this one, and we'd love to have you join that tour next time to see it. As for synagogue admissions, visiting the Dohány Street Grand Synagogue properly requires at least 70 extra minutes plus an entrance fee of 14,500 HUF per person — adding this would significantly change the length and price of this tour, which is why we keep it as an optional extension rather than building it into the public tour. This is a very informative easy walking tour around the Jewish quarter of Budapest. Our guide, Andre, was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English making the whole experience very enjoyable. I doubt we would have found the places he showed without the tour and even if we had we wouldn't have had the benefit of our guide's knowledge. The tour was free with an option of tipping your guide. We tipped as it was well worth taking the tour.

The tour was led by a lady called Dora. She was very knowledgeable about the Jewish history of Budapest. Tour took just over two hours. Dora was happy to answer any questions and she was very interesting and engaging.
