Paivi was a perfect host for us. This was our first time to Italy and our tour was amazing. It was crowded and a private tour made our time more enjoyable.
Katarina was an excellent guide! She was professional, friendly and a wealth of knowledge. Our tour was so special with her guidance as she whisked us thru the crowds to the best spots to teach us the history and stories of these incredible works of art. With Katarina, the private tour was well worth it and highly recommended.
Giovanni P gave our family a fantastic tour today! His knowledge is impressive and he brings the ruins to life! Thanks Giovanni!!
Our guide Eviss was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend her. Her knowledge of paintings help us understand the relevance of what we were seeing.
Our guide for this tour, Lucia, was the best guide we had in Rome. She knew all there was to know about the Museum and Sistine Chapel and told us many stories of the statues, paintings and artefacts on display. It was fabulous to have all this insight and made the tour so much more interesting, plus we got to skip the queues. Highly recommend this tour.
I was happy I went for signing up for the private tour. I figure you do the Vatican once, might as well spend a little more and get a great in depth tour. This met all of our needs.... our tour guide was knowledgeable as well as personable and friendly. I know for a fact I picked up MORE information in the three hours we took on the tour than if I had spent 1/2 a day or even more on our own!
I thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide, Michaeli (apologies for misspelling.) His background in archaeology and his desire to explain the "whole" story offered us a very detailed and informative tour. Pick up easy. Started with history of area before moving into the museum. Drop off in the basilica, same with brief history of the church, a few highlights and encouraged us to take some time and walk around. Also suggested a gelato spot. The most meaningful part for me was taking the time outside of the Sistine chapel to explain what to look for, what we would see, an overall experience, helped to make my time in the Sistine chapel more meaningful. Michaeli encouraged questions, spoke about his personal experiences in past tours. His enthusiasm was contagious.
The Guide met us on time at the designated place. It was great not having to stand in queues to get into the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. The information given by the Guide was informative and interesting and she answered our questions as we asked them. She was friendly, attentive and very professional. The whole experience was amazing.
Booked this tour 3 months before our visit. Morning of, we go and cant find them so we call and it's a busy signal for an hour then they answer and said it's been cancelled..terrible service
Dear Jonathan B, Thank you for sharing your feedback on trip Advisor. We are extremely sorry that you were unable to join the Vatican city Private tour. Our Customer Care Line is available 7 days a week and we take great care in providing the best customer service experience possible, therefore we are very surprised to hear that you were not able to get in touch with our customer care department. We would kindly ask you to contact Tour in the city privately with your booking details so that we can investigate this hitch and act upon it accordingly. We were able to verify that your reservation was confirmed for the afternoon at 15:00 pm and you showed up at the meeting point in the morning. Probably the error was caused by the fact that we had proposed to you an exclusive and upgrated tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel that begin before the the general public has access to the Museums with priority entry at 7.30 am proposal to which we never received your reply. Clients can always contact our customer care department if such issues do arise, as our customer care department is available at all touring hours to help. We would like to thank you for leaving your feedback once again. Best regards, We wish you a lovely day. Kindest Regards Stefano Tour in the city Team
The Vatican had always had an air of mystery about it--what lay beyond those walls? Because we booked ahead online, we quickly moved to the head of the line and into the hallowed halls. We spent an intense afternoon moving slowly with dense crowds through room after room of extraordinary art. The scope of the artwork was almost overwhelming, but our guide from Tour in the City was superb! Her near-encyclopedic knowledge of the art, the architecture, the history of the Popes, all made the experience rich and rewarding and unforgettable. A remarkable afternoon.
