Manikarnika Ghat, das wichtigste brennende Ghat, ist der vielversprechendste Ort für die Einäscherung eines Hindus. Leichen werden von Ausgestoßenen, sogenannten Doms, gehandhabt und auf einer in Stoff gehüllten Bambustrage durch die Gassen der Altstadt zum heiligen Ganges getragen.

Had a great tour with Vijay. The old city was shut down to auto traffic and packed with people due to the festival. Vijay figured out alternatives and I had a great tour

I booked this tour with Indrajeet, his communication was great and He met us on time at the front of the Hotel Grand Ganges as planned. We walked through the crowded streets of Varanasi at an enjoyable pace. He is a great at explaining the importance of the Varanasi and the Ganges and how they are so essential for those of Hindu faith, We stopped for coffee and I liked way he explained the circle of life through to death before we reached the cremation gnat, understanding the importance of ceremony was so valuable and He made us consider death in a different. As an added bonus, He didn't suggest any shopping and paid for our coffee. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone visiting Varanasi and wished we had met him earlier in our tour

My guide for this tour was Mr. Vinod. I found the tour very interesting, and I learnt a lot. I felt the guide was good at explaining and did not rush or talk as if from I script. He knew a lot and answered all my questions. I saw the sundown ritual and he arranged for me to get a seat with a good view, which made a big difference! Would not have been the same experience if I had been down in the huge crowd. Would recommend!:) He also helped me get back to the hotel and was very helpful.

We booked the Varanasi Life, Death and Re-birth walk with Indrajeet, who kept us informed re time of pickup etc., and gave us the option of changing the time as we were the only 2 booked on it. Indrajeet arrived very promptly and we set off on our tour, but because it rained so hard we had to unfortunately cut the tour short by 2 hours. We were given the option of continuing the next night or would be given a full refund - we decided to continue the next night, and we are so glad we did. Indrajeet was very informative, took us round the small narrow lanes of Varanasi, past little shops in the old market selling all the offerings for the cremations, the flower market, and of course the main cremation site, followed by a walk along the river back to our hotel. Indrajeet answered all our questions, and we had loads, we didn’t feel rushed at all - the walk was at a very steady pace. Indrajeet is a charming and a very knowledgeable guide, and you will not be disappointed in this tour - a definite must. Thank you again Indrajeet.

Indrajeet Kumar took us on the walking through the narrow alleyways and byways near the Ganges. He was insightful, knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
