Der St George’s Square, der als das Herz der Hauptstadt bezeichnet wird, ist Vallettas größter und prominentester Platz. Sie stammt aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und war Zeuge einiger der bemerkenswertesten Ereignisse in der Geschichte der Insel, darunter königliche Besuche, Siegesfeiern und sogar die Verleihung des Georgskreuzes im Jahr 1942.
Das Theater wurde 1942 während des Zweiten Weltkriegs direkt von Luftangriffen getroffen. Vor seiner Zerstörung war es eines der schönsten und bekanntesten Gebäude in Valletta. Nach mehreren aufgegebenen Plänen zum Wiederaufbau des Theaters wurden die Ruinen vom italienischen Architekten Renzo Piano neu gestaltet und 2013 wieder als Veranstaltungsort mit dem Namen Pjazza Teatru Rjal eingesetzt.

If you have never been to Malta and only have a short time - this is the tour to beat walking in the heat and see a great deal of Valletta. Nico was informative and adjusted the trip to include deviations we asked about (in the city). Was easy to navigate the hills and crowds on the Segways. Two in our group were new to Segways and picked up using a Segway in a few minutes (Nico is a good patient teacher).
Great experience. Learned a lot about the architecture of Malta while cruising around on a Segway. Nicolas was great and safety cautious.
Nicolas is a very passionate and fascinating English-speaking guide. The Segway is a great way to visit a city like Valletta where there are many hills.
Myself and my sons had a really wonderful time seeing Valletta by Segway. I thought it was the highlight of our holiday as it was such fun but also because it made getting around Valletta’s steep streets much easier and Matthew our guide would tell us a bit about Valletta’s history at each stop. The price included entry to the Malta Experience at the end which was also well worth the visit - again we learnt so much about Malta’s history. My sons and I would highly recommend this activity. If you’re visiting Malta and are thinking about booking this Segway tour, don’t hesitate for a second it was genuinely one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. There were eight of us in our group, including young children, and from the moment we arrived we felt completely looked after. The two-hour tour was perfectly paced and never felt rushed. Our guide made sure everyone was comfortable and confident on the Segways before we set off, and throughout the tour he was incredibly patient, especially with the children, making sure they felt safe, encouraged and included every step of the way. The route itself was fantastic, taking us to some stunning locations with incredible views and hidden gems that we would never have discovered on our own. What really made the experience special was that our guide didn’t just take us from place to place – he brought Malta to life. His knowledge of the local history, architecture and culture was exceptional. Every stop came with fascinating stories and historical facts about the buildings, landmarks and surrounding areas, making the tour as educational as it was fun. He also went above and beyond by stopping at the perfect photo locations and taking some absolutely brilliant pictures of our family. It meant everyone could be in the photos together, and we’ve come away with some amazing memories that we’ll treasure for years. What impressed us most was his genuine enthusiasm and passion. You could tell he absolutely loves what he does, and that energy made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble, and he constantly checked that everyone was happy and comfortable. We’ve done a lot of excursions around the world, and this genuinely ranks among the very best. It was fun, informative, relaxing, incredibly well organised and suitable for all ages. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family with children like we were, this is an experience you simply shouldn’t miss.
Nicolas was our guide and he was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about history and he care when we were all new to this was fantastic. On top of this the actual tour was the best ever so glad we did this . Managed to see all the main sites without having to walk anywhere :)
We did a 2 hour segway tour with Nicholas. This was the best experience we had in Malta, by far. I have 3 kids and was very nervous about they navigating the segway. But, Nicholas made sure we all were comfortable with them before we started. He was very entertaining and gave great detail about all of Malta history. We had a great day, and would go back.
This was a fun and engaging way to tour and learn about the Island. I fell off once because I turned too close to the curb but I would do the whole tour again! The tour guide was knoweledgeable, caring and helpful!
