This was the only tour available to visit the 3 islands;( Amantani, Taquile and Uros) The breakfast at a private home was really great. I enjoyed every step of the way. The guide was patient and Kind.
We choose this trip because we could do 3 islands in 1 day which fit our schedule better. It was also private which allowed us to go at our own pace. Our guide Samuel was very patient, attentive, very knowledgeable and insightful. Our captain Alex, his wife and his parents on Amantani were also very nice. We loved the pancakes and speaking with Alex's parents. Thanks also for finding an alternative transportation mode to climb the mountain! We greatly appreciated :) It would have been a longer day without it. The view from Pachatata temple was awesome! Intinca (Taquile) island was full of wonderful surprises (festival with music, great food, tea-leaf, knitted stuffs and more). Uros was also interesting. Overall we had a wonderful day. Aniai!
A wonderful and comprehensive day tour of Lake Titicaca. Breakfast and lunch were very good. Our guide, Samuel, was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend.
The tour was good, especially the first two islands. I would skip the last one (Uros) and spend more time on the first two.
The guide was excellent! Very attentive to our pacers there were many steep inclines that although we are fit people still 60% inclines are a little slower to do! He even located a local to allow us to motor bike up a portion so we would get there faster to better enjoy the experience. He was from Amantani and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him tell us about the local customs ranging from woman cutting their hair to make for their husband’s matrimonial belt to their religious beliefs. The temple at the top of Amantani was striking. Enjoyed the trip to Uros and still amazed you do not fall through the reeds! The boat ride was smooth and loved seeing the Bolivian mountains riding snow capped in the distance. Everything I had hoped for and more! We speak English and the guide spoke it very well along with the Presidents of each community. Everyone we encountered was gracious. The food they served was spectacular.
The tour got a chance to visit three islands in one day, and enjoy your own boat during the whole ride. We (2 people) attended this tour with a 32-seat boat. Also, the guide Samuel is knowledgeable about all three islands since he was born and raised at one of them.
We stayed 2 full days in Puno and booked this tour hoping to get the best of it given our short stay in Puno. The tour was very well organized, we left the hotel early and headed to Amantani Island by boat, it took 2 hours. During the boat trip, Miguelanguel gave us details about the trip and the region. We liked that Amantani and Taquile were scheduled in the first part of the trip, they are less touristic and definitely worth seeing. We also liked that despite the long journey, we stayed active, doing a hike first in Amantani, and then again in Taquille. With the altitude (over 4’000m), the hikes felt like sport, although they were short (1h first one and 30 min the 2nd one). Although we booked the tour in English, we spoke Spanish with Miguelangelo, another great opportunity for us to practice the language. Miguelangelo gave us lots of interesting explanations regarding the region, the history, people’s life in the area, and also helped us buy a small handicraft piece from the people in Uros. Lunch was organized for us in Taquille on a terrasse up in the historical village, we enjoyed the simple food, with natural ingredients which give energy (quinoa soup, omelette or fish, muna tea). We also appreciated the conversations we had during the trip with our guide about Puno, Cuzco, Perú, and our travel experiences in other places in the world. We got back at the hotel at 5.30pm, we felt we spent another amazing journey in Peru! Thank you Miguelangelo!
A great opportunity for the people who can only spent one day one the lake Titicaca. The tour started with an early visit to Amantani. Amantani is a really lovely island to visit because of it's authenticity and lack of tourists. Our English speaking tour guide Samuel grow up in one of the local communities and gave us a lot of information about the island. The hike to the top of the island (tempel Pachatata) was beautiful and challenging because of the height (4100m). Both Taquile and Uros are more touristic but very nice to visit. We received a lot of information about the islands, the local people and their traditions. We learned about the local costumes and the building of the floating islands. The lunch at Taquile was perfect with a beautiful view over the lake. Thank you very much Samuel for the very nice and interesting day !! Greetings from Belgium.
