Reiseverlauf

One of the best days! Numa, our guide, is a walking lexicon with the ability to convey information in a clearly understandable and compressed way. We have learned so much from history and everyday life in Sarajevo! The tour planning is great, through downtown and markets up to the suburbs and nature around Sarajevo. We spent 7 hours on the road with snack and lunch in a true insider tip: an all-round fantastic day! Thanks , Numa, we will be back!
I had such a great day and totally enjoyed the hike. I can absolutely recommend cheyf.reisen! I liked everything! It was perfect.
This tour really opened up my eyes to Sarajevo's landscapes and culture. The guides are engaging and really made this a worthwhile trip. I think it's the best guided experience I've had. Also, very good value for money.
Really beautiful, interesting and different tour of Sarajevo! You see parts of the town that you won’t come to with other walking tours in the city and I was amazed to realise how close the city is to the mountains and tranquil nature! The guide was very open, answered all our questions and adapted the information to what we were interested in. A must!
You haven’t been to Sarajevo if you didn’t do this tour! One of the best tours of my life! I loved every part of it! The history of different neighbourhoods and the “mahalas”, the constant change of architecture, the scenery, the views. At one point you are in the Austro-Hungarian quarter, passing by the old Jewish quarter, socialist buildings, some mosques, neighbourhoods from the Ottoman time, and illegal settlements, then you are in some kind of village and you end up on a hill in the woods with a breathtaking view! We visited the place where some important battles happened during the recent war. There are still trenches that the soldiers dug 30 years ago. Then the best part was the reward after the hike! Amazing food and drinks and we had such a good time! Seriously, one of the best hikes and foods ever!
I loved the Rakija tasting!I had so much fun!I recommend this tour to all my friends
Urban hike is perfect for those who want to get out and spend time in nature yet don't feel ready to cover very long distances. At this tour, I was able to see the famous mahalas, the remarkable part of Sarajevo that makes it look so pretty from the valley when looking up at the hills surrounding the city. During the hike I saw different notable buildings (which are often omitted in the tour guide books?!), learned more about the traditional Bosnian architecture and culture, got to be smitten by of the best panoramic views of Sarajevo. Not to mention that it was a great workout after which you are rewarded by a hearty lunch in a beautiful restaurant specialised in Bosnian cuisine. Something else I would like to highlight as I did several tours with .Cheyf. You don't feel like a tourist with them, bit rather like a local who spends time with good friends — that's how extravert and accommodating Kathi and Numa are. Check them out — rest assured you will want to come back over and over again.
Dear Sonya, we are so glad that you enjoyed our Urban Hike and saw parts of Sarajevo that you haven't explored yet. Thank you for the wonderful pictures of your day too! We are looking forward to welcoming you in Sarajevo again soon 😊 All the best Kathi from .Cheyf
Half the day in the Mahalas I really liked it! At first we went steeply up through Sarajevo’s old neighbourhoods, passing large family houses, yards with clotheslines and vegetable gardens on the outskirts of the city. We take our time on the hike and often take a breather and Numa explains a lot about the history, but also the current situation in Sarajevo, shows me special houses, such as an old monastery, and tells me anecdotes time and again — experiences that you can’t read, but get from him as a local first-hand. I always admire the magnificent views of Sarajevo and enjoy the shade and fresh breeze in the forests above the city. Over a delicious (even vegetarian) meal in a Bosnian restaurant we graduate and I can still ask any questions I can think of. What I particularly liked was the approach to getting to know Sarajevo from the point of view of the residents. With Numa you have a guide to the side who is in the middle of it and with passion. Great!
This is an excellent tour with a phenomenal guide that includes a striking mix of urban history and beautiful landscapes. Even as someone who has lived in Sarajevo for several years, I learned plenty of new things and saw breathtaking views I had never seen before. The Cheyf team is fun, friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Sarajevo has so much more to offer than the usual voyeuristic 'war- tourism, ' and this is the perfect way to experience both its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. An overall great experience.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure having you on our tour and showing you something new about Sarajevo! ☺️
