This tour definitely weaves you through the sketchy back streets of London. Great storytelling! Very well paced - it is a lot of walking, so be careful with how you plan your day.
Gabby was knowledgable and made it interesting learned a lot about the murders and the case! Left us asking questions afterwards so gotta do some research
Met in a little park and the process was seamless and easy. Bettina was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does. We loved that the tour included so much in addition to the macabre and that Bettina did so well painting a picture and sharing information about life in 1888. Better at night I think, which is when we went. Two hours of walking though flat terrain I’d recommend the tour to anyone and we’re glad we saw more of this city than we otherwise would have enjoyed.
Terrible, just terrible. We had what I presume to be a new guide, named Tom, who had no business giving a tour. He was hard to hear, rushed through the tour, got multiple details incorrect, and left out TONS of vital information. We didn’t leave until 15 minutes after our scheduled start time, and finished about 25 minutes early. So we got a tour that was about half the length of what was sold to us. He was blowing by a bunch of other tours that all seemed to be doing a better job and better paced, we even had a few people from our group slip off and try to join other groups. He was trying to show pictures off of a tiny phone screen that was hard to see, and seemed to be trying to memorize his script between stops. At the end he just announced the tour was over and left immediately while the rest of the group was still standing there. Very disappointing, and would discourage anyone from booking this tour in the future.
Patina did an excellent job of immersing us into 1888 and describing what living conditions were like back then. The amount of research that goes i to these tours make all the difference and our group got a load of that information. We all got a lot out of the tour and my wife and I really enjoyed it.
Well our cab driver from the royal lancaster couldn’t find us the exact spot and it took longer than the 35 minutes to get there (we drive for over an hour). We missed the tour and tried to get caught up to the next stop. There were multiple tours and the Viator people would send us the next locations but there were so many groups and we stopped at each one, walked for an hour looking and then gave up. Taking an Uber back to hotel now. An expensive night-we were not able to book for another night in addition to the extra cab fair. Thanks anyway.
It was interesting but not in the safest area. I would recommend taking a taxi or Uber to and from the meeting site.
This was such an amazing tour. Our guide, Julia, did such an excellent job taking us on this Jack the Ripper tour. One of the biggest regrets we had from our trip was not tipping her more and if there’s a way to make that right, we’d love to!
The tour was very good and very informative. Our guide was exceptional and took the time to go into great detail of Jack the Ripper and his victims. Actually visiting the places in White Chapel where the murders occurred made it especially more realistic and easier to connect the present day with the past. Highly recommend this tour when visiting London.
A fantastic trip back in time to a very dark series of events in the Eastend of London. Great tour guide who was very knowledgeable.
