Matteo and Gabrielle were fabulous hosts and instructors. First Ceasarine experience. We did not make a request and were hoping for local cuisine, which is the experience Matteo and Gabrielle provided. We walked to a local outdoor market, butcher shop and bakery, then prepared a delicious meal and enjoyed it with our host instructors! Great day despite some difficulty with directions after reaching the address. Just ask a few questions prior to the day. Highly recommend!!
Wow, what a fantastic cooking class and experience! Benedetta is truly an amazing cook; and she is now a new friend. Shopping at the central market was a delight. We sourced farm fresh produce for our cooking class from the local Turin area. Upon arriving at Benedetta’s lovely home, we engaged in enjoyable conversation and jumped into preparing our meals. My wife and I were also fortunate to meet Benedetta’s mother who was also a true delight. Our cooking class was enlightening as well as hugely enjoyable. Once finished, we ate the meals we prepared and enjoyed a few glasses of wine with our instructor/host and her mother. The conversation was really nice. It reminded me of sitting around my table back home in the US with my Italian family. So wonderful! My wife and I have attended many ‘side-trips’ on our various Italy adventures, to include other cooking classes. We can honestly say that the class with Benedetta, and the conversation, was absolutely the best we have experienced! We will always remember that day fondly. If you are ever in Turin, Italy, this cooking class with Benedetta is a MUST! Thank you, Benedetta.
A fantastic experience that changed our perception of cooking, making fresh pasta at home took us literally minutes. Sara and Alessio have a lot of specialist equipment and we are wondering if we should not remodel our kitchen 😂. We had a fantastic time first at the market buying ingredients from the best farmers and then in a very hospitable house where every minute was a pleasure! We cooked delicious dishes together. We highly recommend Sara and Alessio personal cooking experience!
We enjoyed our tour and cooking class with Benedetta. She took great care of us and walked us through making fresh pasta and tiramisu. It was such a fun experience and we highly recommend this tour.
We were hosted by Jenny (Eugenia), our chef, and her husband Mauro at their lovely home. They are very welcoming and engaging. We learned how to make several typical Piedmontese dishes and then eat the dishes with nice local wine and fine lemoncello. This is a great way to meet locals while touristing.
Benedetto was the most gracious host! From the tour through the Merchantile to the Fresh Farmers Market—everything was explained with appreciation for the product and great knowledge for the many ways to prepare. In her home, we prepared fresh pasta, bruschetta and tiramisu, along with many appetizers for our very special lunch, where her mother, Louise joined us to share in the conversation and share family recipes. This was the most memorable experience—I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in a real Italian kitchen and better understand the passion they share with food and its preparation.
I had my Cesarina experience on a sunday so the market was closed. I was offered to make an additional pasta instead of the market. I accepted. I was also asked to change times due to other participants in the group, and then when I arrived at the new time, it was only me in the group. So I am deducting a star for this. I paid a rather pricey penny for this class, and for these two inconveniences I could have been offered a partial refund or to do another day. Also because we made tiramisu for dessert, which isnt local to Torino. They should be allowing the chef's to decide what is on the menu. Because locally, people in the Piedmonte region do not make tiramisu as a typical dessert. Usually they have panna cotta or bonet. I had my experience in Eugenia Jenni's home, and I would give her 10 stars if I could. Both her and her family were wonderful. Their home is lovely. And I loved everything we made. She even hand wrote the recipes on beautiful parchment paper for me to take home. An amazing experience!! Tip: When you complete the survey that Cesarina sends you before the class, tell them you want to make Piedmontese cuisine, which means something different that tiramisu! You can make tiramisu in every other italian cooking class. And request Eugenia Jenni!
