Tromso Electric Northern Lights Cruise

Beschreibung

Booked this excursion well in advance before our trip and so glad we did. Good value for money for 3.5 hours. Everything was well organised, staff were extremely knowledgeable and interesting, delicious hot soup AND the weather was kind. Tromso skyline beautiful by night. We got to see the lights!!
Well organized, delicious soup, was fun.
we were unsure as to whether this tour would be going ahead as it had been snowing all day. but we hadn't heard anything so headed down to the meeting point. it was clear where you needed to be and there looked to be a queue but when things started it seem like people were coming from all angles to get on the boat. we found a seat upstairs and settled in for the journey. they did say that due to the weather they weren't sure if we would see the lights or not. the boat just headed out to the north of tromso. it took about an hour to get up there then it just idle in the water waiting. i did think that the boat would take us a bit further out but that could have been me misreading what the tour was. there was a bar on the boat that you could purchase things from. there was also soup included in the tour. we had that after we had been outside for a while. unfortunately for me i couldn't eat it as was too spicy but my friend enjoyed it. we did get a couple of breaks in the clouds where the lights peaked out but only small amounts. it wasnt until we were on the way back into the harbour that the lights really came out and gave us a show. was amazing
Trip was excellent , Crew were brilliant Especially Emma (I hope name is correct) who spoke excellent English, with a lovely Spanish accent was engaging, knowledgeable passionate, friendly and kindly took photos of us. Ship is nice with 3 levels 2 closed and one large open area perfect for pictures. The ship was pretty much full and but no issues getting service of taking pictures, although some patience required. We were lucky enough to see northern lights on trip but not guaranteed. Trip lasted around 3.5 hrs from centre of Tromso, food on board basic (soup cruise) but nice, recommended you eat before the trip. Trip was quite expensive but as are all trips, it all comes down to the northern lights if you don’t see them there isn’t a lot to the cruise as it’s dark so not much to see. Great trip for anyone would recommend
So glad we chose this cruise which not only had comfortable warm lounge, hot soup, bar, toilets, informative talk about the lights, friendly staff, but we saw the lights before leaving the port. Incredible. Great experience. Highly recommended.
We were very lucky to see the Northern lights since we got out of the Harbour. The Crew Tobias, Dacil and Alberto were very friendly.
Despite a heavily overcast night, we spotted auroras thanks to the captain's skill in finding a clear patch. Embarkation was chaotic—the meeting point differed from the map due to another boat's technical issues. We queued at the wrong vessel before relocating. Once aboard, the interior was cozy and warm. As we sailed from port, exterior lights dimmed for optimal viewing. Away from city glow and clouds, the lights danced vividly—a true spectacle. A faulty microphone meant we missed the soup service announcement, but they offered soft drinks as compensation. (A hot beverage would have been ideal against the chill.) Pro tip: Maximize time on deck; displays are fleeting. Note: Auroras often appear only on phone cameras as subtle grayish clouds to the naked eye. We were lucky—initial glimpses via app evolved into visible greens. Ships are impeccably equipped for harsh weather and emergencies, with thermal suits and ample lifeboats. A memorable, worthwhile adventure!
A northern lights cruise is a gamble, as you can't 'chase' the lights as well in a slow moving boat, however the gamble paid off and we had an excellent display after initially thinking we would not have much luck due to heavy cloud cover. The soup was delcious!
Great excursion in the evening. Northern lights perfectly seen - warm soup included in the fare and fine.
Very professional crew, very comfortable boat, very tasty soup. Got some great pictures as well. Absolutely would recommend for anyone who has the money to spend.
