Pey Berland ist ein historischer Platz im Herzen von Bordeaux. Dieser lebhafte Platz, der nach dem Pey-Berland-Turm benannt ist, bietet eine Mischung aus architektonischer Schönheit, kultureller Bedeutung und pulsierender Energie. Auf diesem Platz werden wir über den Glockenturm, die Kathedrale Saint Andre und die berühmten Hochzeiten sprechen, die hier stattfanden. Hier, in der Nähe der Kathedrale, werden wir die besten Cannelés der Stadt probieren
Die Kathedrale Saint-André ist ein architektonisches Meisterwerk und liegt mitten im Zentrum von Bordeaux. Sie ist nicht nur ein Leuchtfeuer des Glaubens, sondern auch ein wichtiger Teil des historischen Pilgerwegs Camino de Santiago. Darüber hinaus fanden hier einige der berühmtesten Hochzeiten des Mittelalters statt.
Das Gebäude wurde ursprünglich zwischen 1771 und 1784 erbaut und diente als Palast des Erzbischofs von Bordeaux. Heute ist es das Verwaltungszentrum der Stadt und ein prominenter Ort für offizielle Versammlungen und Zeremonien.
Die Rue des Remparts im französischen Bordeaux ist eine charmante Straße voller Geschichte und gesäumt von wunderschönen Gebäuden und kleinen Kunsthandwerksläden. Wörtlich übersetzt heißt sie „Straße der Wälle“ und erinnert an die mittelalterliche Vergangenheit der Stadt, die einst von Schutzmauern umgeben war. Auf dieser Straße werden wir an mehreren gastronomischen Einrichtungen Halt machen, um Brot/Gebäck zu probieren, Honig zu verkosten und Wurstwaren zu kaufen.
Dieses gewölbte Tor steht an der Stelle eines historischen Zugangspunkts zur Stadt, der bis in die Antike, einschließlich der Römerzeit, zurückreicht. Es gibt Belege dafür, dass sich an dieser Stelle einst ein Tempel zu Ehren der Gottheit Jupiter befand. Andere behaupten, es sei die Barriere zwischen der historischen Stadt Bordeaux und dem jüdischen Viertel gewesen. Heute ist es eines der berühmtesten Monumente der Stadt und definitiv einen Besuch wert.
Dieses Grands Hommes liegt im Herzen des Goldenen Dreiecks von Bordeaux und bietet raffinierte Architektur, erstklassige Geschäfte, kulturelle Veranstaltungsorte und einige der besten Restaurants der Stadt. Im 18. Jahrhundert diente dieses Viertel als geschäftiger alter Markt der Stadt, doch im Laufe der Zeit, als sich Bordeaux weiterentwickelte, verwandelte sich der Markt in das elegante Viertel, das es heute ist.
Der Place de la Comédie ist der prachtvollste Ort in Bordeaux, nicht nur wegen seines Platzes, sondern auch wegen der atemberaubenden Aussicht, die er aus jedem Winkel bietet. Hier stehen sich das berühmte Grand Théâtre (die Oper) und das luxuriöse Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux gegenüber (beide beherbergen auch 2 Michelin-Sterne-Restaurants). Von jeder Ecke aus erstrecken sich Alleen in die Ferne und offenbaren Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Monument aux Girondins am Place des Quinconces. In der Nähe der Oper werden wir verschiedene Schokoladensorten von einer der ältesten Schokoladeninstitutionen in Bordeaux probieren
Dieser 11 Hektar große Garten, auch als Lunge von Bordeaux bekannt, beherbergt eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Pflanzenarten, ist ein perfektes Ziel für ein Picknick und einfach eine Oase der Ruhe inmitten der geschäftigen Stadt.

Fabulous tour! Alex is aptly named the Bordeaux Foodie and conveys a real passion for the city and its gourmet offerings, along with interesting and amusing anecdotes linking the food to the city’s history. Fantastic introduction to local sweet treats and a local beekeeper’s shop devoted to an astonishing range of delicious honeys … heaven! Plus, of course, shops dedicated to cheeses, meats and chocolate, where selections were made for our lunch, according to our tastes. Finally, Alex prepared a delicious platter of these while we were introduced to Bordeaux wines in a local cave and then we munched our way through the guided pairings with a couple of glasses of wine. Delicious! A very pleasurable morning; great food, interesting chat (and no up-selling) and to be thoroughly recommended! Thank you Alex!
What a wonderful experience Alexandra was very knowledgeable and passionate about local food and the history behind the food we had an amazing time with the most delicious food and wine all in all a must do experience in Bordeaux especially if you are a foodie.

Amazing tour of Bordeaux filled with delights! It’s rare to have an excursion tailored with such thoughtfulness, and the special touches did not go amiss. Alexandra was brilliant at introducing us to each stop in a fun and informative way. It felt like a natural family day out! This was the only tour we could find that my 8 month old nephew could join too! The treats were delicious and the order of them was perfect. We could 100% recommend!!

My sister and I did this tour with Alexandra and it was amazing! There were so many unique foods that we tried and I loved that we picked it all out as we went along. We then were able to enjoy a beautiful array of delicious specialty foods that Alexandra put together. It all come together with the great wine at the end. I would absolutely recommend!!

My wife and I recently went on this food and wine tour of Bordeaux with Alexandra. She was a terrific guide. She did a nice job of weaving in some of the interesting history of Bordeaux so as to help us understand the layout and evolution of this amazing city. The organization of the afternoon was unique compared to other food tours we have done but we found it to be quite enjoyable. There were yummy treats with accompanying stories along the way but the afternoon culminated in a pairing of the local foods we learned about, that Alexandra picked up during the tour, with different wines which made for a really fun afternoon. We would definitely recommend this tour!
