Bei dieser Tour geht es hauptsächlich um die Skulptur von Richard Serra. Die atemberaubende Skulptur im Naturschutzgebiet Brouq in der Wüste. Ras Brouq – eine Halbinsel an der Westküste von Katar – trägt die Überreste prähistorischer menschlicher Besiedlung. Die wunderschönen und ikonischen Felsformationen von Ras Brouq bieten einen Einblick in eine prähistorische Landschaft. Und dazwischen sehen Sie die Mushroom Rock Formation, das Zekreet Village und die Zekreet Fort Ruins.

Zekreet ist ein Dorf im Nordwesten von Katar. Zekreet Fort liegt an der Westküste von Katar, 90 km von Doha entfernt. Das Fort hat einen sehr charakteristischen Grundriss, der es ermöglicht, die zwei verschiedenen Bauphasen zu sehen. Ursprünglich wurde die Festung als einfacher Platz ohne Türme in jeder Ecke gebaut. In einer zweiten Entwicklungsphase wurden Türme an den äußeren vier Ecken der Festung hinzugefügt.
Der international anerkannte Künstler Richard Serra fügt der Wüstenlandschaft die erstaunliche Ost-West/West-Ost-Skulptur hinzu und bringt die Kunst zu den Menschen. Ost-West/West-Ost ist seit seiner Installation im Jahr 2014 zu einem berühmten Wahrzeichen in Katar geworden. Diese atemberaubende Skulptur im Naturschutzgebiet Brouq erstreckt sich über einen Kilometer und besteht aus vier Stahlplatten von jeweils über vierzehn Metern Höhe.
Sie können auch den Zekreet-Strand sehen. Wo Sie viele Leute sehen können, die zum Kitesurfen und Parasailing kommen.
Das Gebiet zeichnet sich durch seine ungewöhnliche Landschaft aus weißen Klippen aus. Die Form und Farbe der Landschaft sind das Ergebnis der Erosion weicher Kalksteinschichten, während die windgeformten weißen Klippen und bizarren geologischen Formen, wie pilzförmige Hügel, das Gebiet einzigartig und besonders für Katar machen.

Our guide, Zubair, was very knowledgeable and was able to give us lots of information about the sites we visited and even sites along the journey which was very interesting. He spoke good English and drove well in a very comfortable and well air conditioned vehicle. Would definitely recommend!

An interesting trip out of Doha, with the highlight being Richard Serra's amazing East-West / West-East art installation. It was also worth seeing the striking landscape around Mushroom Rock. All-in-all, we enjoyed our time with our guide Muhammad, who was knowledgeable, polite and patient. We felt in very safe hands.

Excellent half-day tour of Western Qatar that included the Mushroom top rocks, East-West West-East monoliths, Zekreet Fort ruins. We also did a stop at the camel race track for a quick look around. Our guide, Zubair was engaging and well informed about the area and the sites we visited.

This was a last-minute travel decision made after seeing photos of Richard Serra’s land art and the Zekreet rock formations. The tour did not disappoint. Muhammad Yasin did a wonderful job touring us to this fascinating and underappreciated destination.
