This is my second time having Shino as a tour guide in Japan and I cannot thank her enough. She is the best, from start to finish. Helping me with determining the best area to visits based on my travel groups interests, to then picking us up near our airbnb (as I am not comfortable using trains on my own lol). To then showing us some local areas and teaching us about the history. I was with two young adults. One just graduated from High School and the other is 21 and both said our tour with Shino was amazing & will forever remember watching the fire ceremony at the temple. I would highly recommend to all!!
Do yourself a favor and book this tour! This was our second visit to Tokyo, and we were looking for a guide who could take us beyond the typical tourist attractions and introduce us to parts of the city we had never experienced before. Shino exceeded all expectations. Before we even met, Shino took the time to understand our interests and thoughtfully planned a personalized itinerary that was perfect for us. The day we spent together was truly unforgettable. We explored hidden gems, visited places where we were often the only tourists, and gained a much deeper appreciation for Japanese culture, history, and daily life. What makes Shino such a wonderful guide is not just her knowledge, but also her personality. She is incredibly professional, patient, kind, flexible, and genuinely passionate about sharing her city with visitors. She took the time to answer all of our questions, adapt throughout the day, and make sure the experience was meaningful and enjoyable. After multiple visits to Tokyo, this tour gave us a completely new perspective on the city. We are extremely grateful to Shino for creating such a memorable experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see a more authentic and personal side of Tokyo.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It truly made my day.
I had a great experience, Shimo answered all of our questions, helped navigate through train stations and the city. She also gave us a brief history on the area and explained what happened in the past and what was there now.
Do yourself a favor and book this tour. This was our second time visiting Tokyo, and we were looking for a guide who was willing to take us off the beaten path and show us new sides of the city we had never experienced before. Shino planned a beautiful itinerary with us prior to us even meeting, and our day together was beyond perfect. We visited spots where we were the only tourists and learned so much about Japanese culture and history. Shino is so professional, patient, kind, accommodating, and passionate - many thanks to her for a fantastic day!!
Shino was great. She was very informative. We learned a lot about Japanese etiquette. We had a great time and saw a lot.
Thank you so much for booking the tour. Hope you come back to Japan and I get to see you again.
My tour with Shino was, without question, one of the highlights of my entire trip to Japan. When my son's plans changed unexpectedly, I found myself exploring Tokyo on my own. From the very beginning, Shino was incredibly kind, flexible, and welcoming, ensuring that I still had a truly memorable experience. Rather than simply visiting famous tourist attractions, she introduced me to the heart and soul of Tokyo. We attended a beautiful Buddhist service that was peaceful and profoundly moving, visited a quiet neighborhood and shrine, explored a centuries-old traditional shop, and stopped at an artisan's workshop where I found beautiful handcrafted treasures that I will cherish for years to come. What makes Shino exceptional is not only her knowledge but her genuine warmth. She shared fascinating insights into Japanese history, customs, and everyday life, patiently answered every question, and tailored the day to my interests. It never felt like a scripted tour—it felt like spending the day with someone who truly loves her country and wanted me to experience its culture in a meaningful way. She also offered thoughtful advice that benefited the rest of my trip. One recommendation she made regarding another tour saved me from an unexpected payment issue, and I was so grateful for her practical guidance. Although it rained throughout much of the day, it never diminished the experience. In fact, the temples, gardens, and quiet streets seemed even more beautiful in the rain. By the end of the day, I realized I hadn't simply seen Tokyo—I had experienced it through the eyes of someone who genuinely cares about sharing her city with visitors. If you are looking for an authentic, personalized experience with a guide who is knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, and incredibly kind, I cannot recommend Shino highly enough. She transformed my time in Tokyo into one of the most meaningful travel experiences I have ever had. Thank you, Shino. I am already looking forward to returning to Japan with my son in August, and I hope to have the pleasure of exploring with you again.
Shino is the GOAT! We booked this tour so we could practice our Japanese along the way. Since we had already visited all the typical tourist attractions, we were looking for something different. This tour was exactly what we wanted.
Wow, Shino was an amazing tour guide. She took us on a private hidden gems walking tour of Tokyo, which so far was the highlight of our Japan trip. We saw an amazing fire ceremony at an off the beaten path shrine -completely authentic and jaw dropping. She will Customize whatever kind of tour you want. In addition to the amazing sites and experiences, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Japan to include historical information, cultural learnings, etc. Oh, and she’s also an amazing human being. Look no further and book this tour!
Thank you so much for joining the tour and sharing the wonderful time. I'm glad that we made it to the ceremony and saw that you were blown away. Your review made my day! Arigato Gozaimashita. Shino
Our guide Mrs. Shino Hioki showed us a lot of Tokyo in 1 day. We enjoyed her way of guiding in which she determined what was interesting for us in consultation with us. Thank you very much for this and if there is another time we will gladly use her again as a guide.
Thank you so much for your review and wonderful pictures. The photos of Tokyo Tower as a backdrop and Grandpa's happy face with a bowl of Ramen are a hit. Taking a boat ride and exploring Hamarikyu Garden with your family were the highlights of the day. Arigato Gozaimasu.
We had such a great tour with Shino! All the stops were fantastic and it was a very unique way to see a lesser known area of Tokyo. Would highly recommend to anyone for a tour!
Thank you so much for your review. It was a pleasure meeting with you. I enjoyed your insightful take on Japan. Please come back to Japan again. I have a lot of non-touristy places I'd love to introduce to you. Arigato Gozaimashita.
