Der Senso-ji-Tempel ist der älteste Tempel Tokios. Der Name Asakusa erschien zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte Japans im Jahr 628, als eine kleine Statue des Kannon von zwei Fischern in Asakusa gefangen wurde. Die Menschen im Dorf bauten einen kleinen Tempel für die Statue, ohne etwas über ihre Herkunft zu wissen. Die Statue wurde seit 645 in einer versiegelten Holzkiste versteckt, als ein buddhistischer Mönch, der aus Nara eingeladen worden war, die Statue zu sehen, dies vorschlug. Die Kiste wurde einmal im Jahr 1868 von Beamten geöffnet, die von der Regierung entsandt wurden, um Befehle zur Trennung von Shinto und Buddhismus auszuführen. Der Tempel wurde ständig von mächtigen Samurai unterstützt und wurde im frühen 17. Jahrhundert zum Familientempel des Tokugawa-Shoguns. Die meisten Tempelgebäude gingen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs verloren. Das Hauptgebäude wurde 1958 rekonstruiert und die fünfstöckige Pagode 1973.
Der Tsukiji-Hauptmarkt wurde jedoch 2018 durch den Toyosu-Markt ersetzt, der Außenmarkt in Tsukiji bleibt bestehen. Es gibt noch verschiedene Restaurants und Geschäfte mit zahlreichen interessanten Artikeln. (Einige Geschäfte und Restaurants sind sonntags, mittwochs und an Feiertagen geschlossen)

Der Kaiserpalast war von 1603 bis 1868 die Burg der Tokugawa-Shogun-Familie. Als die politische Macht an Kaiser Meiji zurückkehrte, wurde er zum Kaiserpalast. Auf dem Gelände des Kaiserpalastes gibt es viele der perfekt gepflegten Pinien und Rasenflächen, die Sie von einem Auto aus genießen können. Sie können auch einen kurzen Spaziergang machen, um die Palastmauern und Brücken zu sehen.
Das Gebäude des Nationalen Parlaments (Parlament) ist eines der wenigen Gebäude in Tokio, das die Luftangriffe von 1945 überstanden hat. Das Gebäude wurde 1936 erbaut.

It was wonderful and very convenient to have a private tour van pick our family from domestic terminal for 5 hour tour for layover at Tokyo and drop us off later at international terminal. Our tour guide Ms Miku definitely made our tour even more amazing. She accommodated the tour to our family's agenda. She was very knowledgeable and explained history and significance of the places we visited. And we had few delicious food station stops during our walk she recommended that was delicious. Made Harajuku stop longer bec kids wanted to spend more time here. Ms Miku definitely made our 5 hour layover tour an extraordinary experience. We highly recommend Ms Miku as a guide and her company. And thank you for the box of variety of delicious snacks and refreshments.

We had a fantastic time with the wonderful Roberto. He took us to see things we were interested in and had the most amazing stories to tell us. We learnt so much from him, and saw temples and parks and old Tokyo and the highlight was Mt Fuji.

We visited 1.Shibuya Scramble crossing 2.Near Tokyo Skytree 3. Sensoji temple (Asakusa Street shops) 4. Odaiba ( waterfront) We saw Rainbow Bridge and Statue of Liberty.

This tour was the highlights of Tokyo. Douglas our tour guide was a delight. He was waiting for us as we arrive, was knowledgeable about our destinations, was flexible in extending our time and planned on the fly. We had planned on a five hour tour and extended it to eight. He even took us to a local restaurant and ordered a unique dining experience for our group. Douglas went the extra mile to meet all our needs. He even assisted us in shopping for a special gift. At the end of our tour, Douglas walked us to our gate and made sure we were safely on our way. All of us would highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Douglas as your guide. Syota was my tour guide. He was on time, very good communicator and the car was super clean. He knew all the locations I wanted to see. My phone was dead so unable to take photos. He loaned me his phone to take pictures. I wanted to have lunch at a Japanese restaurant. He found one within walking distance of the temple.
