Es hat das Großhandelsgeschäft vom in die Jahre gekommenen Tsukiji-Markt übernommen und bietet Touristen die Möglichkeit, das Marktgeschehen zu beobachten und in den Restaurants auf dem großen, modernen Gelände zu speisen.
Die Überreste des Hauptturms der Edo-Burg, Gärten mit saisonalen Blumen wie Rosen, Bambus, Kirschblüten, Teebäumen, Obstgärten klassischer Arten und andere umgeben den Rasen. Ist ein weitläufiger Garten im Zentrum von Tokio. Es ist der einzige Teil des inneren Palastes, der für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich ist.
Er ist einer der farbenfrohsten und beliebtesten Tempel Tokios. Der Legende nach fischten zwei Brüder im Jahr 628 eine Statue von Kannon, der Göttin der Barmherzigkeit, aus dem Sumida-Fluss, und obwohl sie die Statue wieder in den Fluss steckten, kehrte sie immer zu ihnen zurück. Deshalb wurde Sensoji in der Nähe für die Göttin Kannon errichtet. Der Tempel wurde im Jahr 645 fertiggestellt und ist damit der älteste Tempel Tokios.
Es ist das Herzstück der Tokyo Skytree Town im Stadtbezirk Sumida, nicht weit von Asakusa entfernt. Mit einer Höhe von 634 Metern (634 kann als „Musashi“ gelesen werden, ein historischer Name der Region Tokio) ist es das höchste Bauwerk Japans und war zum Zeitpunkt seiner Fertigstellung das zweithöchste der Welt. An seinem Fuß befindet sich ein großer Einkaufskomplex mit einem Aquarium.

Had a 10 hour layover in Tokyo so decided to book a tour with Xplorjapan ( process is seamless via WhatsApp) and requested Ryu Fuse as my guide/driver who was highly recommended by my sister in law. By the time I arrived at Haneda , Ryu was already there and patiently waited for me as I changed for the colder weather of Tokyo compared to Manila and Bangkok. He drove a Toyota Alphard so I did bring my carry on to the minivan instead of putting it in a locker. Fir this time of the year, naje sure to bring gloves and hat because by noon , the wind picked up. Ryu is very fluent in English so I had fun talking to him during rides between sights and he was quite knowledgeable about the history of each destination. Since I am by myself , he was kind enough to take my pictures except for the couple of places ( Shibuya and portion of Senso-ji Temple) where he had to stay with the van. My impressions- Shibuya and Skytree were OK since I live only 4 hours away from New York City. Anamori had the Torii gates which I wanted to see and it inspires me to want to see the original ones in Kyoto. I would go back and spend more time in Senso- ji. Others were turned off by the somewhat commercialized main street infront of the temple but I love the vibrant energy of it including the side streets. The crowd was mostly locals and loved seeing some of them in their kimonos. It gave me a little insight into the real Japanese lifestyle/culture( food) with some help also from Ryu. The last destination was another super crowded area, the Harujuku/Takeshita Sts. Saw a few young people in cosplay.. A must see but once is enough. Ryu dropped me off at Haneda with enough time to get through the super crowded security check- in and make it to my gate with time to relax before boarding. I have been to European and Middle East cities and none compare to Tokyo in its cleanliness!!! I was glad I booked this Tokyo tour with Xplorjapan and had Ryu as my guide, instead of hanging around the terminal.

Ryu, our driver/guide was excellent and professional in every way. Each place/landmark we stopped at, he tells the history of the place. He also gives recommendations of the best place to eat local traditional Japanese food. Ryu was Super helpful. He is also great at taking photos, we like all the pictures he took of us.
