Reiseverlauf

On January 3rd, my family and I spent a wonderful half day in Tivoli. The driver Roberto, punctual and kind, picked us up directly from our accommodation in Rome, and during the journey he was really available to answer our questions and curiosities about Tivoli and Villa d'Este, we thank him very much! Once we arrived in Tivoli, he accompanied us to the Villa and provided us with entrance tickets for our whole family, Villa d'Este is beautiful, it seems like a hidden and wonderful world from reality. After the visit of about 2 hours we were able to walk around the city center of Tivoli, very nice and welcoming with its small and precious shops but the thing that struck us the most is the ancient area of Tivoli with its small houses and apartments where you can breathe an air of history. The tour is ideal for learning about the art of the Renaissance in Italy and for spending a half day in complete relaxation. I highly recommend visiting Villa d'Este, we will definitely be back for other experiences!
Thank you for your time and for the kind words towards us but thanks to you, we were able to carry out a good service! these compliments help us to improve every day with the aim of satisfying your every desire. You are a beautiful and very nice family! From our side we send you our best wishes for a Happy New Year 2025...we look forward to seeing you in Rome next time
This trip was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Rome. The gardens are an absolute gem, and are a must-see for anyone coming to the region! The town of Tivoli was also historic and charming, with lots of quaint shops, stores, and cafes. The service was very accommodating with our last-minute booking request, and we had a driver who took us directly to the site in an immaculate Mercedes van, and make sure we made it into the villa, and left us to explore on our own. There is an audio guide available to rent for those who enjoy a self-guided tour. Overall would highly recommend!
Dear Mr. Himschoot B. good evening, thank you very much for the time you have dedicated to us and we are truly pleased with your happiness, Alessandro also thanks you referring to your kindness and lively participation! Your words help us a lot to continue offering a good service and stimulate us to improve every time. Thank you! We are here at your disposal
STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOUR GROUP! Confirmed time and hotel pick up for this tour-7:30 AM. They never showed!!! Never answered our phone calls, nor aviator’s. No answer to texts, emails, or messages through Viator site. Received a phone call at 9AM saying driver was stuck in traffic all morning (a lie), could pick us up at place we walked to in 10 minutes. Then received a call saying he was in traffic (again?) and would get us at 10 AM. At 10, we were picked up by a driver (not a tour guide) who spoke no English (booked an English speaking tour). Drove us up to Villa D’Este while smoking in the car (myself and friend allergic to smoke), didn’t know where to buy tickets and had to ask a local, then had ticket agent translate to be finished in 2 hours so he didn’t have to pay for extra parking. Only walked the grounds with no tour guide, had to rush back, driver still smoking in car. Was the worst experience of any Viator tour we’ve ever booked over the last 10 years. And now they are trying to charge us for entire tour! We are fighting through Amex to not pay a dime!
Good morning, it was certainly a chaotic and disorderly day in the city in the month of September due to the intense flow of tourists, and we apologize for the mix-up. Unfortunately, the tour does not include a tour guide (the inclusion and exclusions section says so) and as far as the driver is concerned, we will take note of the situation and apply some measures against the driver (probably we were busy and asked for help from one of the our external collaborators). We don't work like this, we are serious and professional people with many years of experience in the sector, just read our reviews regarding all our tours. We respect and consider all our customers as guests of honor whom we must thank for their preference.
Horrible experience. We did not get an English speaking trivet. We did not get a tour guide. The fountains were not running.
Dear user, good morning, we are sorry because at the time of booking you did not read well what is included and what is not included. In addition to the round trip from your accommodation in a Mercedes Benz car, we provided you with the entrance tickets to Villa d'Este as required but you did not want to use the audio guides available at the desk, the desk staff informed of the inconvenience for the maintenance of the fountains. The fountains were unfortunately under maintenance due to the rain of the previous days and the maintenance staff of the villa decided the same morning to change the waters because they were dirty, unfortunately this is something far from our will, in fact Elena your driver proposed other alternatives to Tivoli and Rome to visit other attractions but you decided to continue with your visit to Villa d'Este, the park was open and it is always a wonderful place. This product does not offer a tourist guide (we have other products that are offered with a tourist guide), it is the driver in this case Elena who gave you panoramic information along the way of the most important features regarding Tivoli and Villa d'Este. Elena has always made herself available and has made various proposals to her in addition to Villa d'Este, even during her return to her accommodation she has proposed to take a small tour of the city and to take her to any place instead of her accommodation . Cordial greetings.
Today we tour Villa del Este. An excellent experience where we want to highlight our guide Roberto, who in addition to being very attentive to our needs explained every detail.
Son muy amables queridos clientes, sus palabras de aliento confortan nuestros esfuerzos. Gracias a su colaboraciòn Roberto les a ofercido lo mejor de sì. Un Cordial saludo! Es un placer
On late notice booked half day prior to tour limited options. Very good driver but misread tour description that both Villas were to be visited, turned out only villa d'este but not villa Adriana - which was only 20min apart. Despite mention about Tivoli in the description, only 1 stop was made outside of villa d'este and after driver walked to entrance and paid for admission, allowed 2hrs and upon return, drove back to Rome. Given covid, preference was for a private trip and for $240/person, could have taken uber for around $125 round trip and even with taxi to villa Adriana, would have gotten off with much less. Not blaming driver but tour operator description should be improved.
Good morning to you, let's assume that we are talking about the booking of December 29th. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding created and at the same time we thank you for the suggestion to improve the tour description. Your reviews help us heal and improve every time. We have already changed some words that could actually make the concept of the visit differently understood. Thank you very much! Nevertheless, it is a pleasure to inform you that Villa d'Este covers 35,000 square meters (100 basins, 255 waterfalls, 50 fountains, 1,500 plants and trees and 9,000 square meters of avenues, walkways and ramps) and to visit it takes between 2 and 3 hours. Villa Adriana extends over 120 ha (buildings, fountains, monuments, etc.) and it takes from 2 to 3 hours to visit it, obviously the visiting time depends on the passion of the visitors. From Rome to Tivoli it is about 40/50 minutes (plus the return) depending on the season and then we considered 1 hour to visit the beautiful town of Tivoli, a pity that due to the pandemic and the winter season the numerous shops, restaurants and more are been closed making your visit less interesting. For this tourist attraction: Half day visit to Villa d'Este from Rome, we considered 5 hours total because we believe it is the right time for the half day. Among the other tourist attractions available we have an 8-hour full day tour in Tivoli to visit the 2 villas: Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana with a lunch break. Dear Sirs, Again we thank you very much for your observation and your advice and we remain available. The direction
Tivoli villa has beautiful gardens and fountains. It was nice to get out of the city and see some of the country side. After visiting the villa it is clear why they are a UNESCO world heritage site. The self guided tour provided by the villa was sufficient to understand and gain appreciation for the villa. Tivoli is very cute and fun to walk around as well. I recommend this trip to those who want to see more of the area outside of Rome.
Thank you so much for your recommendations, we are pleased to know that you had fun and appreciated the beautiful sixteenth century villa. A cordial greeting from all of us
My tour was cancelled last minute and the local tour did not bother to call, email or even notify us about it. I had to call them and confirm about the pick up time, etc as well. There wasn't any tour guide to help us around and our driver that picked us up did not speak English. This private tour is poorly coordinated and I would not recommend this to anyone.
I'm sorry to have arrived at this point because everything you commented makes no sense or reason, much less logic. You are his group (8pax) after having filled up the full service you demanded a refund, it would have been better to ask for a FREE excursion right from the start !. We have explained all the details and the development of the 5/6 hour day with you, in fact our arguments have had a positive effect towards us. However in a very synthetic way I will remind you of some important things and above all real arguments! We canceled your booking in real time because it arrived after the closing of the acceptance of services (12 hours before the start of the tour), although we coordinated with the managers of the platform to find a solution for you and after 20 minutes I received an email of confirmation of acceptance from you indicating the new time of the excursion. Later you made me call 2 times from your Hotel Desk (within 2 hours) and we confirmed and confirmed everything live. The same thing happened the next day at breakfast time (as the tour started at 13.00) and we further confirmed everything. Then, in the inclusions of the tour does not talk about a compressed tourist guide (in case it would never be available only on request and paying an additional fee). Then, at 12.45 pm our staff was in the hotel lobby and explained all the dynamics of the complete service and that the present driver did not speak English but that he would be changed within 1 hour with another English speaking driver (for coordinate anything in case of need), in fact it was like that !. Then, you asked the phone contact to our staff with whom you have been in contact all afternoon (during the 5 hours) to ask for small information, local restaurants and then communicate a delay of 20/30 minutes, obviously we have answered that there was no problem (we have conversations with Whatsapp). So you have had so many things and details, plus details of the regular booked service that we have offered you with pleasure because we are honest and professional people. From the beginning it was all clear and transparent with you, both from us and from the platform, we don't understand your behavior so we think you are an unreliable person. Regards
Very beautiful, but you need to be able to do a lot of walking and clibming stairs in order to fully enjoy it.
So much beauty together closed in a park! Thank you for enjoying our tour and for the recommendations. Despite the stairs due to the different levels of the terraces, we hope you had fun and met your expectations. We look forward to seeing you next time. Many warm regards
Fabulous residence with an aquatic park full of fountains One of the pearl of Italy. The painting inside are as breathtaking as the park outside
