Auf dieser Tour können Sie die großen Unterschiede zwischen Mazedonien und Albanien in Bezug auf Landschaft, Kultur und Kunst bewundern. Bis vor kurzem war Albanien ein sehr geschlossenes Land und heute ist es ein beliebtes Reiseziel. Obwohl es eine längere Fahrt ist, lohnt es sich.

Die Kathedrale ist der Heiligen Weisheit gewidmet und wurde auf den Fundamenten einer frühchristlichen Basilika erbaut. Sie wurde in der Zeit des Erzbischofs Leo zwischen 1037 und 1056 renoviert und mit Fresken geschmückt.
Die Architektur ist eine Kombination aus byzantinischen und armenischen Elementen und steht allein auf einer Klippe mit Blick auf den Ohridsee über der Fischersiedlung von Kaneo.
Über dem Eingang des Museums befindet sich ein großes Wandmosaik mit dem Titel Die Albaner, das angeblich antike bis moderne Figuren aus der albanischen Geschichte darstellt. Das Museum umfasst die folgenden Pavillons: den Pavillon der Antike, des Mittelalters, der Renaissance, der Unabhängigkeit, der Ikonographie, des antifaschistischen Krieges zur nationalen Befreiung, des kommunistischen Terrors und von Mutter Teresa.
Was einst dazu gedacht war, Hoxha und sein Kabinett im Falle eines Atomangriffs zu schützen, ist heute ein Kunst- und Kulturzentrum mit gemischter Nutzung, aber mit einem scharfen Blick für die Erhaltung und Erinnerung an die dunklen Jahre unter Hoxhas Herrschaft.

It was a lovely but long day. We started at 7am and I didn’t get back to my hotel until after 10pm. So if you’re okay with that the tour was a great way to see the countryside and learn more about the cities and countries. My driver was EPIC and we talked about life in two different parts of the world. It was really a lovely trip.
A fantastic experience and highly recommended. Our guide, Petrit, picked us up and made the day very comfortable and enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable about each place. It was a very long day but that's because Tirana is very far from Skopje! However, it was worth it to get to Albania. The itinerary was perfect, just enough time in each place. Well worth it!

It was a very pleasant journey with Petar, my guide/driver. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Ohrid is a wonderful place to visit, rich in history and fantastic natural beauty!
I was able to understand different cultures between Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Albania; the tour guide was excellent in helping to understand the historical background among these countries
With our excellent guide we took a few hours driving to Ohrid and Tirana. I was pleasantly surprised of Ohrid. The view from the Ancient theatre to the lake is great. In Tirana we started from the central square, at the statue of Skanderbeg and spent the next two hours learning about the center of Tirana and the local sites. It is an interesting city. Do not forget to bring camera!!!

i modified the itinerary to go Tirana direct and later stop by Ohrid. the journey to Tirana is long (6 hours drive). most of the road condition is ok except the part from Border to Elbasan. not lucky there were a few slow driving truck in front and costs a lot of time. Driver and guide are very professional which makes the trip much more easier. Tirana is a very modern city which contrast to my expectation. both countries are improving the roads.
