Absolutely fantastic tour. We were fortunate and had Jorge de Leon (the Lion) as our guide. He was a rockstar. He got us through the border with ease and without headache. I usually try to do things on my own to save a little, but I am so glad I didn't try this time. I speak Spanish and am comfortable in Latin American countries, but the extra headache of the border crossing was so much easier that it alone made me grateful I booked the excursion. But beyond the crossing, Jorge was awesome. My teenage daughter had a mild allergic reaction and was anxious and Jorge recognized it, stopped at a pharmacy, bought medicine with Guatemalan currency, and got us back on the road. Jorge clearly has a passion for Mayan culture and history. He knows his stuff and loves to answer all questions. He was great with my kids. Nothing but great things to say.
I'm pleased to know you had a wonderful time. Tha k you for choosing us and sharing your experiences. I really appreciate it. Best Regards Edwin Gonzalez
Edwin Gonzalez set up an amazing customized visit from San Ignacio to Tikal. I had wanted to visit the site since working in Western Guatemala in 1972 and 1973, so every detail was important to me. Mr. Gonzalez worked closely with us to craft a two day trip that allowed me a leisurely view of this incredible and spacious Mayan ruin. I recommend the Sunset Tour in addition to the two day tours that I took. From the moment we were picked up at our Lodge in San Ignacio, crossing the border and returning the next day the arrangements were flawless. The journey was comfortable and the drivers were quite professional. We stayed at the Jungle Lodge, within in the park and a short walk to the site entrance. The rooms were comfortable and the restaurant was quite good. Let me now forget our excellent guide Henny, or Coco who took us around the first day and for the sunset tour. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and good at adjusting our our slightly slower pace. A trip to Tikal with Edwin Gonzalez Tours is definitely the right way to fulfill a lifelong dream.
I'm pleased to know you had a wonderful time during your visit. It was a privilege having you as our guest. I really appreciate your wonderful review. Best Regards Edwin Gonzalez
We did a Tikal and ATM tour with Edwin. He was really easy to book with, communicated well, and did a great job facilitating our tours. The lunch he provided on the ATM tour was a traditional Belize Sunday meal and it was amazing. He helped us plan other day trips that we did on our own, told us where to find the best homemade tortillas in town, a birthday cake for my daughter, and more. His knowledge of the town and Belize history is fantastic. I'm really not one to leave reviews, but Edwin went above and beyond to provide us with a great experience.
