Als einziges Wolfshundeschutzgebiet in Kanada widmen wir uns der Aufklärung und Sensibilisierung für Wolfshunde und wilde Wölfe. Unsere Mission ist es, geretteten Wolfshunden ein sinnvolles und erfülltes Leben zu bieten und gleichzeitig Erlebnispädagogik anzubieten, um das Wohlbefinden und Verständnis von Wolfshunden in unserer häuslichen Welt zu fördern. Durch die Pflege authentischer Verbindungen zwischen unseren Wolfshunden und Menschen ist es unser Ziel, eine Wertschätzung für Wölfe in freier Wildbahn und eine Wiederanbindung an unsere natürliche Welt zu wecken. Wir befinden uns östlich der Rocky Mountains in der Nähe von Cochrane, Alberta, auf 160 Hektar mit einem aktuellen Rudel von 60+ ansässigen Wolfhunden. Zusammen mit unseren erstaunlichen Wolfshunden haben wir ein Besucherzentrum, das Souvenirs und Bildungsmaterialien über Wolfshunde und wilde Wölfe anbietet. Alle Einnahmen aus Eintritten und Waren gehen direkt in die Betreuung unserer Wolfshunde und die Unterstützung zukünftiger Rettungen. Bitte beachten Sie: Kinder müssen mindestens 6 Jahre alt sein, um besucht zu werden, da Wolfhunde empfindlich sind.

Nehmen Sie an unseren Wolfdog Wisdom-Sitzungen teil und nutzen Sie die Gelegenheit, mit einem unserer Wolfdog-Experten zu sprechen und die Wolfdogs in Aktion zu sehen! Unsere Wolfdog Wisdom-Sitzungen finden täglich um 11:30, 13:00, 14:00 und 15:30 Uhr statt.

Wolfdogs are awesome!!! Even with the cheapest admission we still got to see the wolfdogs up close. Be sure to align your visit time with the Wolfdog Wisdom sessions to howl with the wolves! Very educational, fun, and definitely worth the price. Not too crowded either
It was very cool seeing all of the wolf dogs. This place has wonderful enclosures for them and you can tell they are very well cared for. We did the tour and enjoyed learning their stories. We had a lot of fun feeding the goats, chickens, and guard dogs too.
Really good experience and worth the money. The sanctuary is well spread out and maintained. We opted to do the self guided tour due to the timing but it would have been great to hear the information provided in a guided tour. That said, the many information boards around the paths were very informative. It was lovely to see so many dogs being cared for in such a nice environment.
Our visit to was absolutely unforgettable. The sanctuary is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by stunning scenery that makes the entire experience feel peaceful and unique. We did one of the interactive tours where we were able to get up close and personal with the wolfdogs, and it was truly an amazing experience. The tour felt very personal, and the staff took the time to answer questions and share so much information about the animals, their behaviors, and the importance of conservation and education. You can really tell how much care and passion goes into looking after the wolfdogs. The experience was not only exciting but also incredibly informative. We learned so much during our visit, and it gave us a whole new appreciation for these beautiful animals. Seeing the wolfdogs up close was breathtaking, and the connection you feel during the tour is something we will never forget. I highly recommend visiting Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary to anyone looking for a meaningful, educational, and unforgettable experience.
Great place which gives you an insight into the wolfdogs and their behaviours . Very knowledgeable team who are happy to explain things . What a great job they do, very passionate
Self guided tour at a slow ish pace, reading about half the signs and stopping to admire all that we could see took a little over an hour. Every part of our experience was amazing, down to the gift shop
