Das 20. Jahrhundert enthält eine der traurigsten Seiten der litauischen Geschichte. Auf dieser Tour erleben Sie den atemberaubenden litauischen Freiheitsgeist während der schwierigen und dunklen Zeiten der sowjetischen Besatzung. Im authentischen ehemaligen KGB-Gefängnis werden Sie die wahren Werkzeuge der sowjetischen Unterdrückung sehen, Sie werden Türen vor Schmerz quietschen hören, Sie werden die Kälte quälender Herzen riechen. Lassen Sie sich einladen, auf den Spuren des litauischen Widerstands zu wandeln und spüren Sie den litauischen Freiheitsdrang, der mit bloßen Händen und Liedern gegen die Brutalität der sowjetischen Panzer verteidigt wird. Die Tour beginnt im Zentrum von Vilnius. Sie werden sehen: • Lukiskes-Platz; • Lukiškių Gefängnis; • Litauisches Parlament (Seimas); • KGB Museum.

Einer der Hauptplätze von Vilnius, zu Zeiten der Sowjetunion als Lenin-Platz bekannt. Heutzutage wurde dieser Platz auf moderne Weise rekonstruiert und es gibt keine Lenin-Statue mehr
Wir pausieren vor dem Lukiškių-Gefängnis, das einst ein zaristisches Gefängnis und später eine KGB-Festungsstätte war, heute ein Kulturraum, der immer noch das Gewicht der Geschichte trägt.
Die Tour führt weiter am litauischen Parlament (Seimas) vorbei, einem Symbol der wiederhergestellten Unabhängigkeit und Schauplatz der trotzigen Haltung des Landes während der Januarveranstaltungen 1991.

What an enormous knowledge and passion for history! The guide, Domas, managed to make a rather heavy subject fascinating and gave a good insight into how life formed in the different periods of Lithuania’s dark times. It was a lovely walk through the area with interesting stops along the way, which ended at the Museum of Freedom and Occupation. Can be highly recommended if you have the slightest interest in history.
It was a very informative tour which covered the city’s history and showed us important places, sights and landmarks. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a passion for what he was telling us.

It was ok. Spent the majority of the time in other parts of the city rather than the museum. The guide walked very fast, only a few of the 12(?) people could keep up. Tired by the time we got to the actual museum. The prison brought us to first was more interesting than the KGB building. The trip advisor meeting location was off. You have to go to the bottom of the ticket to find the actual location, if you go to the Waze or Apple Maps you will be off by 2-3 blocks.

A very informative tour of the ‘KGB Prison’ and surrounding area. Thomas, our guide, was knowledgable and able to explain the complex and sensitive history Lithuania and Vilnius in particular. He encouraged questions and was keen for us all to learn about his country. We enjoyed hearing about the Lithuania parliament too. A brief but informative (and hard hitting) tour!
