Sie verwenden Theater, Musik, Tanz und moderne Zirkuskünste, um einzigartige kambodschanische Geschichten zu erzählen. historisch, volkstümlich und modern. Die jungen Zirkuskünstler werden Sie mit ihrer Energie, Emotion, Begeisterung und ihrem Talent überraschen. Phare-Künstler sind Studenten und Absolventen des Berufsbildungszentrums von Phare Ponleu Selpak (www.phareps.org) in Battambang. Der Verein wurde 1994 von 9 jungen Männern gegründet, die nach dem Regime der Roten Khmer aus einem Flüchtlingslager nach Hause kamen. In dieser Zeit wurde ihnen von einem Kunstlehrer, der Zeichenunterricht als Therapie benutzte, sehr geholfen und sie wollten diese neue Fähigkeit unter den armen, sozial benachteiligten und in Schwierigkeiten geratenen Jugendlichen in Battambang teilen. Sie gründeten eine Kunstschule und es folgten öffentliche Schulen, um freien Unterricht anzubieten. Eine Musikschule und eine Theaterschule waren die nächsten und schließlich, für die Kinder, die mehr wollten, die Zirkusschule. Heute besuchen täglich mehr als 1.200 Schüler die öffentliche Schule und 500 die Alternativschulen. Phare Ponleu Selpak hat auch umfangreiche Kontaktprogramme, die versuchen, bei den Problemen zu helfen, die in ihren eigenen Geschichten hervorgehoben werden. Phare The Cambodian Circus bietet diesen Studenten und Absolventen einen Ort, an dem sie ihre Fähigkeiten verbessern und einen angemessenen Lohn verdienen können. Geld, das sie aus der Armut befreit und ihnen Selbstachtung und Freiheit gibt.

A wonderful show A fantastic human adventure We had a great evening Extraordinary acrobats
Don't waste your money. For $38.00 instead take your family home for a nice dinner for 4 people. The show is not a real circus. Horrible acrobats. Most of the short one hour show you see them crowning around. There is only one acrobat doing all the acts. So lame. This is for people who never seen real acrobats from China and Russia. Not entertaining at sll. Left disappointed. Don't go .waste of money.

This was the fastest hour of my life. The circus show was so entertaining that the time flew by. The entire thing was so well done including the welcome from the performers with drums, jugglers and cheering. The food available pre-show, and the entertainment before the show is top notch and the food is inexpensive. Every seat in the big top is a good one and the quality of the show is fantastic. The best part is that seeing the show supports the mission of this program which is to give skills to underprivileged youth in order for them to have a better quality of life. It is win-win and feel good all the way around.

Astounding! Heading in we just assumed that it was just another circus performance. But tonight’s performance blew our mind, from start to finish it was so captivating left us on edge most of the show, it was just incredibly breathtaking. It educated us on how much rice is part of the Cambodian culture, & how Cambodian people eat live & breathe rice & community. We’re truly thankful that we got to experience the show. It’s great to see that although born into difficult circumstances the circus provides access to people to learn about different art forms free of cost! A great initiative!
