Reiseverlauf

Had a very special day with Gabriele and Hugo hosting the Teotihuacan pyramids. This was quite unique as i felt it was very personal and both guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about anthropology and the history of the area. But what sets this apart was going for a light breakfast and then a traditional lunch at their family home, cooked by the family. The food was very authentic and it was outstanding! There were no extra stops into souvenir shops and restaurants, this was the real deal. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you.
My Grandma's Food Tour and the pyramids was an unforgettable day with the local guides Gabriel and Hugo! Highly recommend these two for any tours, especially this one.
Super experience. Gabriel and Ugo are knowledgeable and their family is very welcoming! Our 9 year old daughter enjoyed the experience too.
Totally worth it. Hugo & Gabriel were great guides, they communicated all details ahead of time and had everything planned and timed well. Food & pulque tasting experience were awesome!
We had a great time on the tour. The guides are super knowledgeable. They really have a passion for anthropology and archaeology and that really came through how they were teaching us about the history of the pyramids. Lunch was out of this world. Some of the best we’ve ever had. Highly highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful guided trip with Gabriel and Hugo, They are very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and happy to answer any additional questions. We had already visited the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia earlier in the week, which was very helpful introduction. As a side note, they mentioned the movie “Museo”, based on the 1985 heist. We later watched the movie in the evening and it was interesting because of the many references to the museum, but it is fiction, not a documentary of the actual events. Gabriel and Hugo’s family was also very welcoming and accommodating in their home, where we were served breakfast and delicious lunch, homemade mole, followed by pulque tasting. We were with a group in a comfortable van and safe driver.
The wife and I took this tour this Christmas. It greatly exceed expectations. We were picked up at a convenient location and stopped at the family home. We were warmly greeted had Café de olla en pan dulce and proceeded to Teotihuacán. Our guide Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable and spend time with all of us in the group, answering questions, and providing context to what we were seeing the pyramids are, of course, an amazing place, but it was extremely helpful to have a guide to interpret what we were seeing, and understand context. After the tour we returned to the family home. We had a wonderful lunch with two different types of mole and sampled. Many different Pulques and again weren’t quite a bit about pulque and culture. We’ve loved meeting the family and felt extremely at home. My wife and I have traveled quite a bit. And this is one of the best tour experiences we’ve ever had. We both highly recommend this.
This was, without question, the most exceptional tour I’ve ever experienced. The guides’ depth of knowledge and passion for the region elevated the journey far beyond what we could have discovered on our own. The visit to the abuelos’ home for coffee and refreshments offered a warm, genuine glimpse into local life, while the later stop for mole and pulque — with the entire family participating — was a truly unforgettable highlight. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making this an extraordinary experience I would recommend to anyone.
This is the best thing we did in Mexico City (and we had done lots of great things). The guides, two brothers, are extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Visiting the family home with their delicious home-cooked meal and agave spirit tasting was a fabulous experience, like no other. This is a tour not to be missed.
We loved this tour with the brothers! They are passionate about sharing the Teotihuacán history and their own culture. We also loved meeting their parents and the meal cooked by their mother & grandmother was delicious. The pulque tasting was both interesting & tasty! The brothers are good drivers too (very welcome after many crazy Mexico City Uber drivers!).
