One of my favorite experiences of a recent trip to Tokyo. The tea ceremony was authentic and performed with reverence and respect. I learned so much about the history and meaning of Chado and Japanese culture. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in the peaceful, meditative practice of tea. And I loved the concept of "this time is the only time," cherishing a specific moment that cannot be repeated.
The ceremony was great. Relaxing and educational. Mika was incredibly knowledgeable, polite and a master of her craft. I highly recommend!
Mika was very welcoming and so knowledgeable about the tea ceremony. She has over 20 plus years in the tea ceremony and teaches the course at her school which takes several years to complete. She provided a lot of history and showed us a hands on demonstration of the tea ceremony after showing us a quick video. She let us taste the teas and provided a great introductory course on matcha tea and the various cooking tools used in the process. We got to make our own matcha tea and drank our tea with sweet treats. It was a wonderful afternoon. Thanks Mika!
This was such a special part of our trip! We were greeted warmly and we learned all about Choda- both its importance in the past and today. If you want to connect to Japanese culture away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, I would highly recommend
My tea ceremony experience was extremely relaxing from start to finish. It's another level from regular tea to being a ritual. Highly recommended for any tea lover, young and old. Our host wore a beautiful kimono and was just stunning and well versed in English. Great Experience...Thank you
The tea ceremony workshop was a beautiful experience. Mika speaks English fluently and did an excellent job explaining the history and significance of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. I admire how every movement is performed with intention. I attended with my brother and we both felt very relaxed afterwards, as if we had just meditated. Highly recommended!
My partner and I booked this to learn a bit more about Japanese culture and we were not disappointed. Our host, Mika, took great care in teaching us about the history of tea ceremonies and the effort that goes into them. She made sure we underwent a true tea ceremony experience, and made really great conversation/suggestions about things to do on our trip. Would absolutely recommend-- even if tea isn't your thing-- the experience alone was worth it!
The teacher new everything there is to know about shadow tea ceremony. I loved it. My daughter loved it too. It felt really relaxing. I highly recommend this event. The decor was great
It was a lovely insightful experience into the history of Japanese tea ceremonies and their origin. We had a great time talking, sitting peacefully and enjoying the tea and sweets and left feeling a sense of inner peace. Highly recommend.
Nice to learn about the old traditions even if you don’t like tea. The guide was very knowledgeable.
