Das Tal der Könige ist eine der bedeutendsten archäologischen Stätten der Welt und ein UNESCO-Kulturerbe. Versteckt in den Wüstenklippen des Westjordanlands von Luxor war diese königliche Nekropole die letzte Ruhestätte der Pharaonen des Neuen Reiches (1550–1070 v. Chr.). Hier wurden mehr als 60 Königsgräber entdeckt, die legendären Herrschern wie Ramses II., Seti I. und Tutanchamun gehörten. Jedes Grab ist wunderschön mit bunten Wandmalereien und Inschriften aus dem Totenbuch geschmückt, die den König auf seiner Reise ins Jenseits Fortgeschrittener machen. Pick up from our hotel was on time and we were warmly greeted by the guide and driver. The car was spacious and clean. Our guide provided detailed explanations of every temple and tomb we visited giving us very interesting insights into ancient Egyptian religion and the various pharaohs and their relationships with each other. The statues, temple designs and hieroglyphics were all described very clearly, bringing the stories described by the wall paintings to life. A thoroughly enjoyable tour with a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Note that the temple and tomb visits require a lot of walking and stairs/ramps which are a challenge for persons with reduced mobility.

Overall,it was an unforgettable experience everything is planned and organised from the time they’ve picked us from the airport.
