Tagesausflug zur Wolfshütte ab Warschau

Beschreibung

It was a balmy late spring day when Martin arrived punctually to pick us from our Hotel lobby. The drive through the Masovian and Masurian countryside was charming and our guide pointed out the beauty and facets of Polish countryside... he was kind enough to take a short break so that I could take a picture of the nesting storks ..... Martin was knowledgeable about the history of Poland and especially WW II and as we approached the Wolf's Lair he pointed to us the site of the airstrip, the surrounding marshes and the features of the location that made it an ideal site for constructing the Nazi Eastern HQ... The place is huge as it not only accommodated the top Nazi hierarchy but also a garrison of soldiers... Martin explained to us the utility of each buildings and the quirks of their occupants and also pointed us the enormity of the site as well as the futility of it (ultimately it had to destroyed by the German engineers)... he was an absolute gem! We had an excellent lunch in a small Polish family-owned place at Ketrzyn (Rastenburg) previously and Martin pointed out the typical Prussian architecture of the buildings of the province ..... On our way back we visited the Swieta Lipka church where we were lucky enough to hear the renditions of it's famous organ... Had a lovely, educative and enjoyable day-trip for which we are indebted to Martin! Three cheers for him...
I just returned home after several weeks and wanted to share my experience on this tour. We purchased this tour after researching available tours to the Wolf's Lair. Our tour guide was Marcin and he made the tour! It was a wonderful day. Marcin picked us up in the lobby of our hotel and we started the journey to the Wolf's lair. Once we arrived Marcin spent his time walking with us throughout the area and shared additional information that we did not know. It was quiet and only a few other people at the Wolf's Lair when we went on a Sunday in March. After the tour we had a delicious meal. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in WWII history. I would purchase this tour again with Marcin!! Thank you. 100%
The guides for this tour were amazing—they were so entertaining and truly wanted to make sure we had the best time. They were enthusiastic about history and eager to share their knowledge with us. They even took extra time to show us more sights and pointed out interesting facts along the way. I cannot recommend this group highly enough—they are both amazing and professional. I would give them a 10-star rating if I could!
What a great tour. Marcin was incredibly knowledgeable and an excellent guide explaining the details and history of the bunkers and facts about the war. The scale of the Wolf’s Lair site and planning of the atrocities of the war at this location mixed with the ruins and beautiful forest retaking the concrete is something you have to see in person to fully understand. Highly recommend this tour.
This was by far the best tour I’ve ever taken. Marvin was such a great guide. Speaking with him on the drive there was a history lesson on Poland for my family. During the tour at the site he explained everything and allowed us to have time to take it all in. We also enjoyed talking with him at the lunch after the tour. Which by the way the food was incredible. If there were a rating higher than five stars o would give it to this tour and Marvin.
That is so good to hear, we are very happy that you consider our tour the best you've ever taken. Thank you! It helps us grow.
This was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Martin was awsome. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and great to be around. He made the drive both there and back fly by. The tour was so interesting and the lunch was awsome. Cannot recommend this enough.
Martin was very knowledgeable and informative on the ride to, and around the site. He was happy to answer the random questions we asked as well.
Visiting the Wolf's Lair is to discover a methodically organized chapter on the delirium of the Third Reich. Walking through those historic ruins in the company of Marcin is to delve into a past that should not be forgotten. He begins by situating us in the geopolitical situation that led to Hitler's rise and, from there, guides us to the reason for the Wolf's Lair's existence, how it was built, and its organization. Marcin shares with us his profound knowledge of history, demonstrates great narrative ability, and richly illustrates essential details about the complex's role, the function of each building, and even the eccentricities of its occupants. And, of course, he dedicates special attention to separating legend from reality regarding the spectacular assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler. This tour is essential for anyone who wants to understand how the Nazi machine worked. And in Marcin's company, it will be a richer and more exciting experience.
